A tag and some awards

Broni tagged me to pull my 6th picture. Goes like this: The tag is to open the My Pictures folder on your computer, open the 6th folder and then post the 6th photo. I was tagged once before so this time I counted the 6th folder from the bottom so I wouldn't get the same photo.

I joked with Anna about her picture being so gorgeous and mine was probably an overexposed photo of my cat...and voila! I was able to adjust the exposure but sure enough...it's my cat, Afton. She really has the most gorgeous green eyes. Doesn't she look scary here? And this was when she still had all her teeth! Ha, she weighs all of 7 pounds and is really the sweetest mushiest kitty ever. This was when we first moved into our old house and the walls nor that cast iron radiator were painted yet. She's obviously lounging in her very stylish leopard bed.

I have received a few awards and I want to acknowledge the givers! Without further ado...

Okay, this is some crazy tag from Bonnie/The Lucky Clucker, but here's the deal:

Well, here it is...

This was an attempted photo of my 5 year old, Joey, after he decided to give himself a trim with his safety scissors. The contrast was too much but you can see the long lock on his forehead which sets off the short bangs. That really isn't the bad part. What you can't see is that he took the scissors and cut the hair straight to his scalp on both side of his head. You get to see a bit of that in the pic below! Now that I couldn't hide and it had to grow out. And if you think that's bad...this is the second time he did it. You just never think they will do it twice...

I don't know if it's cheating to show two pictures...but so what?

Okay, I've been tagged. Lets see if I can find anything interesting to tell you...

Here it goes:

1. I love candy corn. I mean, I LOVE candy corn. I eat them relentlessly while sitting at my desk until I can eat no more...and then I do. It's really disgusting.

2. I fantasize about getting a tattoo. I have even made drawings of what I would like to have tattooed. But I can't decide on a body part that won't (or already has) sag or droop or generally misshapen the image. That and I'm a big chicken!

3. I can't stand the Beach Boys. Sorry, but I can't. I don't even know where that came from.

4. I'm really sarcastic. What, you knew that already? Yeah, ok, but I needed filler...

5. I started going gray at the age of 21. Just the crown of my head. Runs in the family as my grandmother got the skunk stripe at 16! I have been coloring my hair ever since!

6. I love vampires! I don't know why, but I do! Vampire movies, tv series, books, documentaries..they completely fascinate me. And the fact that there are people who really think they are vampires when the whole idea was created by a fictional writer-crazy interesting! Well, some people believe what they read in the Enquirer too, right?

7. Okay folks, this is a biggie, for me. Friday I turn 40. 40!!!!!!!! And I am still not rich or famous yet. Boy, time slips by...

Hey, can you move those candy corns off my desk please? Somebody get me a stretcher...

I've been tagged

Good morning! Seems I have been tagged by Heather here. I need to list 7 things about myself. I did it a few months ago but I'm sure I can come up with 7 more.

1~I love to grow my own veggies in the summer...can't wait to get my tomatoes started!

2~I love just about all living things...my kids and I are waiting for the Painted Lady caterpillars to cocoon and waiting for the Luna Moth's to emerge from their cocoons. They are in my kitchen! I am hoping they will be photogenic!

3~I love junk food. Okay, I know it's really bad, but it tastes so good. I avoid it most of the time...but sometimes ya just gotta give in!

4~The love of junk food excludes chocolate. I know, I'm weird, but I would rather have a bag of potato chips than a piece of chocolate. Sorry.

5~It irks me to no end when other people in my office crack their gum or whistle. Both of these are habits of my neighboring co-workers and I have to bite my tongue from screaming!

6~I am really disorganized. I never used to be this way, but ever since bringing forth a couple of rugrats I really can't find anything! I can't wait until they can play in the yard all day so I can look for stuff in the house!

7~I hoard magazines. I have more subscriptions that any one person should be allowed by law and I never have time to read them, so I save them, because some day I might have time! I think I am just going to use them to build modern furniture now...you know, an end table here, a seat there...

Kristie over at Cupcake Martini and Ila at Artfully Ila both tagged me and it's my turn to list 7 random things about myself. You don't think that it should be too hard until you start to think about it...ok, here it goes:


1. I am not a big beach fan because I hate the sand sticking to me. I love the water, but then I have to walk back through the sand to get to my beach chair, because ew, I hate laying too close to the sand, and it sticks in between my toes and the back of my legs....Oh, I get the willies just thinking about it! But I love sitting in a comfy lounge chair under a big umbrella and feeling the breeze and smelling the salt air. But the sand, yuck!


2. I love the smell of pine needles. My grandfather bought a summer house in the Adirondacks when my mom was a teenager (it's is now my moms) and I have been traveling there several times a year my entire life. It feels like my spirit is renewed just by pulling into the property and opening the car door and that fresh woodsy pine scent wafting up my nose...mmm....


3. I'm a closet Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan. My husband thinks I'm a nut and my mom prays for my soul....but I can't help myself. I don't watch much t.v. and this is the show I pick? Everyone needs escapism...


4. I love frogs! All kinds of frogs and toads. Okay, maybe not those pacman frogs...they eat mice! Yuck. I've had tree frogs for several years and currently I am the proud owner of a Leopard frog. He lives in my bathroom (in a tank of course!) where it's nice and humid. Picked him up as a tadpole last year so my 4 year old son could watch him transform into a frog. Well, he was tadpole number 4 that finally made the full transition (but my son thinks it's the same one!) and that's what's important, right?


5. I don't kill bugs. Not even really yucky ones. If there's one in my house I have to pick it up in a tissue or whatever I can find and put it outside. I get so mad when my dh smooshes them! Wait, I feed crickets to my frog...but that's food right? I mean I eat steak, but I wouldn't run over a cow in the road...that's like the same thing...close enough.

6. I just discovered that I like Peeps. Stale ones. I've always thought they were cute and I love all the bright colors but the though of eating sugar coated marshmallow just didn't appeal to me. But one day last week after a package had been opened for several days I thought I might try one since I hear so many people like them stale. Well, it was great! I have an open package on my desk at work now so they are nice a hard and chewy when I feel like a treat!


7. My dream vacation is Alaska. Not a cruise to Alaska, but to spend like two weeks there hiking and photographing the flora and fauna. I want to take a float plane to the remote islands and get up close and personal with wildlife. On the flip side there's like the hundreds of secluded exotic tropical islands where I could lounge all day on the beach (we're not in Alaska anymore...) and have my drinks served to me by a hunky man servant...just don't get any sand on me!


And I will share this photo...just to prove that I really do know how to take a picture! One day soon I will get a photo website up and running.
