Hearing Wedding Bells

About a month ago I made this card for a cousins daughter getting married on August 31st using  Brigitte from Stamping Bella for her bridal shower.     Today I am showing the wedding card I made for the couple using Brett and Brenda.
DPK_StampingBella_ValsWedding
I stamped the image using Memento Rich Cocoa and colored it with Copic Markers.   I used Prismacolor pencils and odorless mineral spirits to shade around the outside of the image.   I sponged the edges of the image panel with Wheat from a VersaMagic Dew Drop.  To give it extra special sparkle, I used Stickles all over the ruffles on the brides dress and her bouquet, and the flower in her hair.   I colored the resin rose with Copic refill R81.  I covered it in ink, so it seeped into all of the crevices, then I wiped off the excess, so it gave it a nice soft vintage look.  I stamped the sentiment then hand cut the banner.  The patterned paper is from the Authentique Irresistible pad.  I love how it looks like tiny bow ties.
Thanks for stopping by today.  Tomorrow I have a cutie from Purple Onion Designs to share, hope you will join me!

Wednesdays Color Throwdown #184

swatch 184

Good afternoon! Better late than never, right?  I got a chance this afternoon to get my Color Throwdown challenge card done.  It was a tough one this week with a house full of sickies…but it appears we are all on the mend :)

This pretty color challenge is hosted by Bar who was inspired by the lovely plates above.   They were perfect for this adorable Uptown Girl Posh has a Present from Stamping Bella.

DPK_CTD184

I stamped the image on Flourishes Classic White card stock with Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  Several parts of the image were based with Copics then shaded with Prismacolor Pencils and oms.   I embellished with some buttons and gems and a big purple rose from Recollections.  I also went nuts with the glitter.  These babes lend themselves well to the sparklies!   The patterned paper is MME Miss Caroline Fiddlesticks

Check out all of the team samples below, then head over to the Color Throwdown to join in the fun this week!  Have a great day!

For My Friend

I hope everyone had a nice weekend!

I received this adorable Stamping Bella image called Sushi Girls from my friend Tammy.   I just love these Up Town Girls!   I have just the person in mind to send this to!

DPK_StampingBella_UptownMiso

The image is stamped on Flourishes Classic White card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Prismacolor pencils and OMS.  The edges of the image panel were sponged with Wheat ink from a VersaMagic Dew Drop.    The patterned paper is MME A Beautiful Life

I shaded around the girls also with Prismacolor pencils and added lots of glitter a la Paula!   I love how she adds glitter to her images…it’s always the right amount, the perfect touch.

Well it’s Monday, and for me that means the boys are back in school and I have some peace and quiet!  Also, when I straighten up a room it’s guaranteed to stay that way until at least 2:45 pm!  Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Wednesday’s Color Throwdown #68

This week at the Color Throwdown our hostess Barbara was inspired by Origin’s paper from Basic Grey and has challenged us with these colors:

swatch 86

I used this adorable image from Stamping Bella called Sk8tr Boy

DPK_CTD86

I’ve used Origins paper and colored my image with Copic markers. I used these Bella Dots in each corner. I just handwrote a sentiment and added it with a brown mat up on some adhesive dots. It will come in handy for one of the many birthday parties my boys have been attending lately!

Please come over to the Color Throwdown and join in the challenge and don’t forget to check out all the talented design team cards too!

Wednesdays Color Throwdown Challenge

Welcome to challenge #85 at the Color Throwdown. Our hostess this week is Cathy and sadly this will be her final week with us as she is taking a break for an undetermined time. But she picked some really lovely colors for us this week! Check these out!

swatch 85

I used this King of the Wild Things from Stamping Bella and colored it with Prismacolor pencils and odorless mineral spirits. I cut it out with an oval Nestabilitie that I kept in place to sponge a bit of Antique Linen Distress Ink. Then I used a Big Scallop Oval Nestie for the mat. I layered it all on this great patterned paper from K & Company. The sketch is this weeks challenge for Bellarific Friday. I didn’t have a sentiment from Stamping Bella to go with this image so I will leave it blank until I use it…most likely for a little boys birthday.

Please come over to the Color Throwdown and join in this weeks challenge. Make sure you check out the samples from all of our design team members and send your best wishes to Cathy! We are going to miss her :(

Bellarific Friday

Yea! It's Friday! This was a long week-kids off from school ya know ;) Not only is it the last day of the work week it is also Bellarific Friday at Bloggabella and I just love that! I broke in another one of my new Bella stamps this week: Gracie Lollipop.

Gracie is stamped on Neenah Solar Crest White Ultra Smooth card stock and colored with Copic markers and is shaded with Prismacolor pencils. It's layered on several different papers...Crate Paper turquoise dot matted on Bazzill card stock, and then onto a piece of pink dot paper from K & Company. The card base is PTI as is the ribbon and button. The three Prima flowers were natural color, each colored with a coordinating Copic marker and layered together.

I just adore her! Hope you are having a great Friday!

Bellarific Challenge

This weeks challenge over at Bloggabella is to create a Valentine or Lovey Dovey themed card. I already had this super sweet Izzy stamped up just begging to be colored. She was just perfect for the theme with her heart shaped lolly and tiny heart on her hat!

She stamped on Bella's Bestest Paper in cream and I have only tried it with Copics so far, but it really is wonderful! I am looking forward to trying it out with my Prismacolor pencils. Originally when I stamped this image it was very crooked. I didn't think anything of it at the time figuring I would just use a die to cut it out when I was done. However when I went to do that I realized that I could not get the image straight inside the die because it was stamped too close to the bottom of the paper and I got an empty spot. Well, I twisted and I turned and I tried all different shapes to no avail. So I had to do some creative cutting. I trimmed the bottom straight to the image and then when straightening the sides it left parts of the image outside the frame-which is exactly what I did. Thank goodness for my Scor-pal! That thing is a lifesaver when it comes to getting those right angles!

I just added a tiny bit of glitter for some sparkle and layered it all on Basic Grey paper from the Sugared line. I just love how it came out! I wrote in 'Love' since it was a little off balance on the right side and just a simple Martha Stewart heart punch and a threaded button to finish it off. Voila!

Right now the snow is coming down with a vengeance! We already had about 4 inches before the storm really kicked in. They say some spots on the island could reach up to 18 inches! So glad that I don't have to shovel today! Hope you are all cozy inside!

The cutest king of the jungle

This adorable King of the Jungle stamp can be found in the tiddly inks sections of the stamp category on Stamping Bella.

DPK_StampingBella_DragonBoy

He's stamped on Neenah Solar Crest White Ultra Smooth cardstock and colored up with Prismacolor pencils and oms. I stitched all around the image, after lightly inking the edges, and attached to a solid panel from the Archaic line from Basic Grey. The patterned paper is all from the Archaic line. I had originally pulled out some much softer, more baby like, paper, but forgot and used this instead. So now I have to make another one for a younger child with the other paper. The chipboard bone is also from the Archaic line and I just added a button, and a few more at the side for simple embellishments. We don't want any bows on a boy card!

I was hoping to have a few more to share this week, but currently I am headed to the bathroom to give the dog a bath! Fun, fun, fun! Just wait 'til she gets a load of the blow dryer-yeah!

Have a great day!

Going to the dogs

Good Saturday morning! I have several Stamping Bella images that I’ve purchased over the last few months but never seemed to have inked up…and with a few more that arrived yesterday I thought I’d get going on them. Today I have Dogwalkabella to share.

DPK_dogwalkabella

This image is stamped on Neenah Solar Crest White Ultra Smooth card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. It’s colored with Prismacolor pencils and OMS (odorless mineral spirits). This is the first time I am also breaking out my Basic Grey Origins paper….I love it! I created this fun flower from a tutorial I saw on Dawn McVey’s blog. I had seen others using them and I really love them so I finally made one myself. The flower was so big and bold that I thought adding ribbon or a bow might be too much. I also didn’t have a sentiment handy for this, so I am leaving it blank for now-when I have a need to use this card I will add it then.

I hope everyone in the north is keeping warm today! It was 16 degrees as I stood at the bus stop with my 6 year old yesterday! The high reached 22 degrees but was much less with the wind chill factor-yikes! This morning I am sitting on the couch in front of the fire keeping cozy! I am soooo ready for spring!

Is it really New Year's Eve already?

Yikes! I've been off since Christmas Eve and I seem to have lost all conception of time and day. It's children really...you know they kill adult brain cells, right? Thank goodness they're cute! Anyway, I finally found a way to recover the corrupt files from my cf card from my digital camera. I had taken pictures of some Christmas cards that I wanted to share and also some pictures of my puppy romping through the snow for the first time. I am so glad I was able to recover them. I am just going to post them all here without detail. If anyone wants to know any products please contact me!

I was able to get the back door open after mother nature dropped about 16 inches on us last week and I shoveled this path to the grass in my backyard including about a 3 foot circle for Rosie to do her, uh, business...

After a few cautious steps and a thorough smell down she began to run back in forth in the path.

Then she went for it-an all out romp into the deep fluffy white stuff itself! This is my favorite picture! Can't you just see the joy in that furry face?! The snow was up to her head and when she ran through it it looked as though she was swimming-it was really funny!

Here are a couple of money holders I made to send off to my niece and nephew...I used an EK Success reindeer punch.

This image is from Penny Black...Peas on Earth, get it?! Oh, just cracks me up! Yeah, I'm easy...

Another Forever Bear...I love these cuties!

Oh, and my Bella Carollers. I love these adorable animals!

I wish everyone a very Happy and Healthy New Year! Be back soon with regular posts! Have a great holiday weekend!

Squeezin' in one last halloween card!

It seems that I have so many stamps and so little time this year...I never got to make even half the halloween cards that I intended, let alone mailed any this year! But I just had to get this one last card in before it was too late!

This is Bewitched-a-Tude from the Tiddly Ink line at Stamping Bella. Isn't she gorgeous! I wish my hair looked that good when I ride my broom, ahem, I mean when I drive my car. I used the new gorgeous Eerie papers from Basic Grey and the most delicious silk ribbon from Flourishes! I also added a witches hat charm that I got from BunnyZoesCrafts which seem to be sold out :(

My image is colored with Prisma color pencils and oms on Neenah Solar Crest White Ultra Smooth card stock. I used my Quickie Glue Pen and added Prisma Glitter from Judikins randomly around the image and on her dress. I also added some black flat backed gems from Kaiser to the right corner around the image. This is a sketch I have used before that I just love! It's WSC90 from Laurie Schmidlin. This is one that I find I want to use over and over again.

Does everyone have plans for Halloween? I have a Friday night wedding-we are staying overnight (sans kiddos, yippee!) and heading home in the morning to get the kids ready for trick or treating! Better charge up those camera batteries! Have a great day!

Happy Wednesday! I have a splitting headache so I'm gonna make this quick! This weeks challenge is being hosted by LeAnne and these are the gorgeous colors she picked:

I chose to use my new Predictabella from Stamping Bella. She's colored with Prisma's and oms and layered with dp from the Basic Grey Wisteria line. I added lots of sparkle with prisma glitter from Judikins.

Color Throwdown #65 with Stamping Bella

I am hosting this weeks Color Throwdown which is being sponsored by Stamping Bella! I have chosen Certainly Celery, Purely Pomegranate, and Taken with Teal which was inspired by the Lemonade paper line by Basic Grey. You can use any similar colors to join in the fun...these are just a guideline!

I used this image called Addy'tude is on top of the world found under the Tiddly Inks category of stamps. She's colored with Prisma pencils and oms. The dp is Basic Grey's Lemonade, and cardstock is Prism...I didn't have any Purely Pomegranate, oops. I used some Magenta Stickles around the frame and on her earrings and some diamond glaze on her sunglasses. Too bad I added the Diamond Glaze before I colored them...because trying to wipe it off and then color them didn't work out so well, and of course this was almost the very last thing I did to the image so I didn't want to do it over, ugh. I added some flat backed pearls from Prima under the sentiment and viola!

So make sure you head over to the Color Throwdown and join in the challenge. You have a chance to win Bella Bucks and have lots of fun!

Make sure you check out our great DT too!

Color Throwdown #44

This weeks Color Throwdown is brought to us by Tammy and sponsored by Stamping Out Alzheimers. Head over to Tammy's blog to read all about it and then check out this wonderful site!

I had a tough time with this weeks color combo...it's really gorgeous-but I just couldn't seem to get them to gel...without BG Wisteria paper! Mine should be arriving shortly, but not in time to save me from this!

Anyway, this is Ivy Ketto from Stamping Bella. She is colored with Copic markers. The dot paper I found in my stash and is from a company I had never heard of before-and can't remember now! Oops. It was a pretty good compliment to the color combo though. The problem was trying to work in the blue... I think the large gems in the Prima flowers are throwing me. I was going for a lot of sparkle, as you can see with the glitter on Ivy, but I might have overdone it. Too many gems...too many flowers. Well, I guess you can tell I don't like this card much. I guess we can't produce winners everyday! At least the image is adorable!

Lets see what great creations you can come up with! Please use CTD44 for your keyword. Don't forget to check out the wonderful team members creations below! Thanks for stopping by today!

Whew, I made it!

Dang I was so sick! I am taking so much medication I think I am toxic, but hey, I feel better! I even managed a few non Easter cards to post.

I just can't stand how cute these Ketto's from Stamping Bella are! This is Suzette. I love her funky curly hair. I paired her with this pretty paper Eva from Basic Grey. She is colored with Prismas and OMS and sparked up with Spica Atyou glitter pens from Copic. I used the bow technique I found on Leslie Millers blog, Running With Scissors. The cardstock base is from Papertrey.

In this close up you can see the sparkle a bit. I used black in her hair and her eyes, which looks silverish in the photo and pretty freaky! I used pink on the flowers and touches on her dress.

I am watching the premier of Harpers Island...I think I am going to have nightmares!

Just for LeAnne: I am not actually posting at 2 am my dear (I am most likely snoring) but I prep my post a day ahead and schedule it to post sometime after midnight so it's for the next day. 2 am just seems good and actually it would be the only time I am all alone without children all over me...does the cat count? Good night and good morning!!

It's a Ketto Birthday

I made this card over a week ago but only posting it now as I needed to make sure the receiver had it in hand before she saw it here! Then I spent the weekend sick (still sick :( now) and am finally getting around to my blog. It's really hard to resist these new Ketto's from Stamping Bella and I have several more ready to go!

This is Tatiana and she is colored with Prisma pencils and oms on Neenah Solar White cardstock. I also embossed some Neenah for the mat with a cuttlebug folder. The gorgeous dp is Marrakech from Basic Grey.
You can see the touches of sparkle in the close up below.

Off to call the doctor now...sorry for the short post. I have Easter cards galore that I will be posting in bulk this week, look out!! Have a great day!

I have a Greenthumb

Gardenia Greenthumb that is! Ain't she purdy? I made this as a birthday card for someone a few weeks ago and decided that I hated it so I tossed it aside and made a different one.

This Stamping Bella Chichiboulie fairy is so sweet. Don't you all dress like this when you garden? I do! I never ever have on sweat pants with holes, stained t-shirts, or wear my hair in a clip sticking out all over...and I NEVER, ever, get dirt on me. She is colored with my Prisma's and OMS and then I went over her wings with Shimmerz...and I think you can actually see the sparkle! The beautiful paper is both sides of the same from Heidi Grace. The cute brads are from Making Memories...I think. I used a scallop punch for the bottom and a Nestie die for the main image.

Anyway, I came across her tonight while looking through my scraps and decided that I liked her after all...so here she is. That's all folks, have a good night!

Oh baby Bella and check out the new Elzybells!

Now all I need is for someone to be expecting a baby girl and then I can use this card! I bought this adorable Stamping Bella image so long ago but had yet to use it until today. Oh, BTW, pay no attention to the wonky stitching. It is in no way creative or a happy accident. It really is bad! I haven't figured out how to turn corners when I use the zig zag stitch resulting in bald corners and not so straight lines. Don't worry, I covered the worst of it behind the sentiment :) !!

The entire image is paper pieced and the face and star popped up. It is colored with Prisma pencils and oms and I added Shimmerz to the star for a little sparkle. What? You don't see it? What a surprise! The cardstock is a piece of scalloped paper I bought from my LSS, Scrappers Playground, and the patterned paper is from K and Co. Berry Sweet. The ribbon is from PTI and it is a perfect match to the paper, what luck?! The sentiment from a Heidi Grace clear set is cut out with a Nestie and sponged with the die still in place. And lastly I used a Ranger Inkssentials opaque white pen on the tiny flowers on the bundle.

Cute cute cute! Now, who's having a girl? Anyone?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Elzybells released their new images today and they are super cute! Wouldn't you like a triple layer cupcake with a cherry on top? Who wouldn't?!!! I love how you can build your images on so many new sets and the new Just Desserts is Just Wonderful!! Get on over to the site and check them out!
Celebrate your birthday!
I have a close and dear friend who is celebrating her birthday on Thursday and I knew Stella Bella would be perfect for her. I even made her hair the same color! Well, maybe my friend is more of a strawberry blonde, but I've seen her sitting in her martini! Okay, maybe not sitting in it, but I think she gets the idea and is going to love this card! Inside I used a stamp from Printworks that says "It only happens once a year....so Celebrate!"
At first I wasn't sure about the bright colors but I matched them to a K & Co Berry Sweet paper pack and they have really grown on me. Colored with Copics and accented with Sakura Star Dust pen and Diamond Glaze and cut out with a Nestie. I used a ball head pin in pink to attach the sentiment which I stamped and punched out with a SU! small oval punch.
Have a great day! I will be back tomorrow with a special card!
