If the Shoe Fits…

Happy Friday!  Today is a new release from A Day For Daisies called Walking Vintage.  This is a sweet collection of vintage shoes and a great vintage lady.  It’s also a challenge and you must distress it.  Distress and vintage go hand in hand right?  Easier said than done sometimes…
This shoe with the bow made me think Ruby Slipper!

So I started by printing the shoe twice.  I only used the bow from the second image to pop up over the original.  I colored the shoe with Copic Markers then cut it out.   Then I masked the inside of the shoe, where I didn’t want glitter, and pressed it into my glue pad and coated it with red glitter.   I did the same with the extra bow and popped it up with a dimensional foam dot.   I used Spellbinders dies to cut out the circle and scalloped circle, sponging inside the circle with the die still in place.  I embossed the background panel with a swiss dots embossing folder then sponged it with Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink.   Then after distressing the edges of the main panel and sentiment panel (sentiment from Feminine Charm by Flourishes) I sprayed the entire card with Glimmer Mist in Vanilla Breeze.  It’s a bit more shimmery than dirty looking in person, lol!

Let the Sunshine

Today I used the lovely new pear set again, this time pairing it…pairing the pear, ha! with the gorgeous 123 Create Kit called Sunshine.    It contains a beautiful paper pad from MME and lots of gorgeous embellishments and ribbons.

I used the pear trio image and colored it with Copic Markers on Flourishes Classic Ivory card stock.   I shaded around the image with Prismacolor pencils and oms.  Then I used a Memento Dew Drop in Wheat and Distress Ink in Brushed Corduroy to sponge around the image and sentiment panels.    I stamped the branch image on a separate piece of card stock, colored it with Copics, and fussy cut it and popped it up on the patterned paper. 

I used a beautiful ribbon and some dainty trim and added a pretty button with some twine tied through it.   The patterned paper is so pretty that it could even stand alone without much embellishment.

123 Create Kit

Happy Monday! It’s time for a new 123 Create Kit from Flourishes called 5th Ave. It’s loaded with gorgeous goodies!

The papers in the 5th Ave 6x6 paper pad from Melissa Frances will have you swooning! I love the sweet vintage romantic theme of this kit.

I used a sentiment from the Life Lines set again. I just love how these beautiful sentiments, with their beautiful font combinations, create a gorgeous focal point. The floral paper is the perfect background for this sentiment and of course, I couldn’t pass up using polka dot paper too! I used the Fleur Di Lis Rectangle die from Spellbinders to create the mat. It’s so delicate and lovely!

I used the lace trim and cotton ribbon to make a loose casual bow and added a gem brad center. The included charms were a pretty addition and a few gorgeous Prima flowers to balance the composition.
