Color Throwdown Wednesday with Starving Artistamps

Hey, it's Color Throwdown #78 and this week is being sponsored by Starving Artistamps. Our hostess this week is Broni and check out the cool colors she's given us:



The images I used are Sprunk and the hydrant from the Doodle Factory Urban set and a sentiment. I created a city scene with them. The bricks were the closest thing to pink I could get using these images.



I started by making a brick wall. I cut a small rectangle shape from a foam pad used for making you own ink pad and inked it up with chalk ink and stamped it on white paper. I also stamped Sprunk on white paper and cut him out and popped him up. I added a simple panel of Soft Sky and on it adhered the hydrant which I stamped and cut out of red paper. After I stamped the sentiment it still looked really plain so I added a brad that looks like a screw in the corner...uh, yeah, that did the trick. Well, it's for a 7 year old boys birthday, so I don't think he will think it's too plain.

Does this make me look fat?

I think this witch from Starving Artiststamps is hysterical! The trio of them and the sentiments in this set are fantastic! I stamped and colored her with Copics. I added some Diamond Glaze to her shoes (which caught reflection from the camera flash, but they really are black) and her eyes. I added some sparkle with a Sakura Star Dust pen. The broom was a button that I just cut the shank off of and the flowers are layered with a halloween brad...but I can't remember whose it is since I bought it a really long time ago! The orange polka dot paper is Bo Bunny. It's really kind of hard to see in the photo but the image is mounted on both black and purple cardstock from Prisma. Last, I just doodled a bit around the main image for some added detail.

A couple of friends and I went to the Heirloom Stamp Show in Rhinebeck NY on Saturday. It was a gorgeous day and a beautiful drive. The show wasn't very large, but all I can say is Thank God! I spent so much money at each vendor that if there were anymore my credit card would have burst into flames! I came home with a booty of rubber and accessories! I am wearing my gorgeous Paula Best necklace today-I just love it! If you are not familiar with her designs you need to check them out now! And here, just for Curt!

Now all I need is lots and lots of time to use all the new stuff! Ha, yeah right. Hope everyone has a fantastic day!!

Woo Hoo and a frog

I didn't even know that I won any Starving Artistamps until Linsey left me a comment on my last post congratulating me...and the best part? It's the Witch Trio set that I flipped over! I am so excited. What a great way to start the weekend!

Okay, and just so you have something to look at...it's an oldie but a goodie.

I photographed this oh, could be 2 or 3 years ago now. It was soon after I started getting into macro photography. This little guy just has a look on his face like "you talking to me?". Looks like he's getting ready to rumble and it makes me laugh! He's probably just annoyed that I made him pose with those silly purple flowers. It's not my favorite background but hey, it's what was there.

Sorry I haven't posted yet this week. My family did have a great time in the Adirondack's and my son Joey started kindergarten on Tuesday. It's been hectic around here. And, I would have posted my Cornish Heritage Farms Magnet set I created when I attended the online class but I completed it, put them in the bag, and stapled it closed just like you're supposed too...before I took the picture! I might show it anyway. I'm crazy like that...
