Thanks Coach!

I whipped up a quick thank you card for my sons soccer coach.  I pulled out a couple of dies My Favorite Things…Die-namics Fly A Kite and Cloud 1 & 2 die set from PTI.

The paper is from the MME On The Sunny Side pad and I don’t remember which stamp set I pulled the sentiment from, but I just stamped it directly on the cloud with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
Quick and simple fun little card to throw a gift card into to say thanks for being a great coach!

Wednesday's Color Throwdown #179

 I know what you’re thinking…it’s about time, right?  But it’s here now :)   I just love this weeks color challenge picked by Kristin, yay!  I already made so many Valentine’s Day cards so I tried hard to avoid any hearts on today’s card. 

 

I used this adorable image that was sent to me from a friend a few years ago.  I know!  I’ve had it that long!  It’s a Forever Bear image from Hallmark and I know some UK stores carry them, but I really don’t know where to get this image.  

All of the beautiful patterned paper was created by Kristin too!  It’s a digi pack called Candy Kisses and you can buy it from MTME.  It’s so pretty! 

I colored it with Copic markers and shaded around the image with Prismacolor pencils and oms.  I cut it out using a Spellbinders Classic Rectangle die and sponged inside the die with Wheat ink from a Versa Magic Dew Drop.  The mat behind the image is Labels Eleven.    I used a Martha Stewart border punch on the bottom panel and lots of paper flowers from Prima with button centers along the top.  The buttons looked too plain, so I thought, lets add some microbeads!  Oh, what a hot mess I created!  Then I added some more and then glitter on top.   Yikes, it could have been worse, but really, what WAS I thinking?!  Although now they looks like little sugared candy centers, so I kinda like ‘em.  The leaves were created with a a Die-namics from MFT and I stuck in some sprigs I created with another Martha Stewart punch.

Cute as can be

It’s Color Throwdown challenge #107 and this week our hostess with the mostess is Kristin! She’s chosen these lovely colors for us:

I think I may have taken a few liberties with the colors…

I used this cute paper from the Lemonade line from Basic Grey…and as I type I realize that my patterned paper is upside down! Ha, those are cherries, but now they kind of look like lollipop flowers! Any way, I stamped this adorable Pure Innocence image from My Favorite Things which must be sold out because I can’t find it on the site right now…she’s cute, no?

I stamped and colored her hair and face and shoes on white card stock then paper pieced her shirt and pants. I used a tiny flower gem on her shirt where a flower was on the image. I punched the bottom of the mat under the image with a MS border punch. The pink ribbon was the last piece on a roll from my older stash…don’t know who made it. Last I added the sentiment with a mat made from more paper in the Lemonade line.

Sorry folks that I am so late with this weeks challenge. I have been sick (hubs too) since Monday and out of work. I am hoping my hubby and I can get into see the doctor today. I thought I was getting better when I suddenly got worse. Really knocked me off my feet. But right now I am going to get my card posted while I have a bit of energy!



This weeks sponsor is My Favorite Things! I absolutely adore the Rainy Day Friends set that Kim Van Der Sanden sent to me! Here's my creation.

Broni is the super hostess this week and the colors she chose colors inspired by the Eskimo Kisses line from Basic Grey. I made my card using those BG papers then realized that I should have used red instead of magenta but it's close enough, right? I paper pieced her raincoat, pockets, boots and the frog. The rest is colored with Copics. The cardstock is Prism and Neenah solar crest white. I stamped the background of the image panel with swirls from the set in Versamagic Dew Drop Arctic Blue and then accented with Stardust Stickles. The buttons on her raincoat are swarovski crystals from Jolee.

Hummingbird Birthday

You know when you see an image that you just HAVE to have? Yeah, this is one of those. I am a big fan of Magenta (while you can't shop from their website you can view some beautiful cards in their gallery) images and when I saw a sample they had on their site with this image I had to have it! I only used it once when I got it and then unfortunately, along with many of my wood mounted stamps, it got tucked away and forgotten about. I have so many that I really need to revisit.

I used this image to make a birthday card. It is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on PTI Kraft paper and colored with Prisma's and OMS. I found this gorgeous magenta colored Prism paper that matched the equally gorgeous Eva paper from Basic Grey. I used a Nestie to cut the rectangle scallop and the tag which is stamped with a sentiment from MFT Icing on the Cake set. The flowers are from the Bridal dept in Michaels and I colored them with a Copic and added a button and thread. They are really a nice soft lime green. The colors are little funky here and no matter what I did I just couldn't get them right. The whole card is a bit softer irl. As a finishing touch I highlighted some areas with a Sakura Stardust pen which you can see in the first picture. I have to use this stamp more often!
