Emma all dressed up

I've had this cutie pie colored up for quite some time now and since my hand is feeling better ( I was diagnosed with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome) I spent some time putting together a few layouts over the past weekend.

Sugar Plums Cow Emma is from CC Designs found at All That Scraps. She is part of the September set that I had purchased but you can buy each of the stamps individually. The image is colored with Copics on Neenah Solar Crest White Ultra Smooth cardstock. I added a little glitter to her pumpkin with Stickles. The orange dp is from the Halloween pad by Reminisce and the spider web border punch from Martha Stewart. I just had to add a tiny spider dangling from the bottom as well...it's a black flat backed gem from Kaiser that I added legs and a line to.

Well it's Friday and one week closer to Halloween! Have great weekend!

Who's your mummy?!

Ok ok, that was bad! But this mummy is oh so cute! You can find this CC Design Sugar Plum at All That Scraps. He's stamped on Neenah Solar Crest White and colored with Copics.

I saw several samples of this card where strips of white paper were used on the background panel to replicate the wrap of the mummy and I loved it so I tried my own. I tore strips of white paper using the edge of a deckle ruler and then distressed them with some Black Soot Distress Ink. I used a Nestie tag to cut out the sentiment and secured it with two Doodlebugs Sugared Brads and some twine I colored black with a Copic marker. The dot paper is from Bo Bunny.

Well at least it's not Monday! Have a good one!

You're the pick of the patch

I have another CC Design image from All That Scraps to share today. This is Sugarplum Autumn Emma. I got her as part of a special bundle that All That Scraps offered in early August.
The images are all separate. On PTI kraft paper I first stamped Emma then masked her so I could stamp the bench. I then added the pumpkins along side the bench, masking as necessary. I added random falling leaves to complete my scene.

The images are colored with my Prisma pencils and oms. I added some sparkly touches with a Sakura Stardust gelly roll pen. It's layered on some Prism paper and then some great Fancy Pants designer paper. The sentiment was cut out with a Spellbinders tag die, sponged while in the die, and I threaded some PTI twill ribbon through it. The buttons and twine are also from PTI. The leaf is an old Sizzix die. I sponged the edges with various chalk inks. The finished card is 6x6-rather large! The images are a good size so they really determine the size of the card.

I am having so much fun with these fall and halloween images so you will be seeing several more from me over the next several weeks! Only one more work day left, yay!

Color Throwdown #59 with All That Scraps!

This week our awesome sponsor is All That Scraps! The colors I have chosen are Close to Cocoa, Ruby Red, and Pumpkin Pie...nice and warm for these whimsical images! Our sponsor is generously offering a prize for one randomly chosen player this week-head on over to the CTD blog for details and to join in!

Today I am sharing with you Pippi, newly released imaged from All That Scraps.

Image is stamped on Neenah Solar Crest White Ultra Smooth cardstock and colored with Copics. I painted her pumpkin costume and wings with Shimmerz in matching colors and then added glitter to her wings and touches to her costume for extra sparkle! I used a large circle Nestability to cut out the main image and then sponged on some Versa Magic Mango Madness ink while it was still in the die. I did the same with the tag and fixed it with a sparkly brad. The sentiment is also from ATS. I then used the largest Blossom Nestability to cut out the orange mat behind her. The paper is from the new Papertrey patterned paper Autumn Abundance. There are narrow red stripes through this paper and it was a perfect match for this weeks color combo! The swiss dot sheer ribbon is from my stash and the twine and rustic buttons are from PTI.

Make sure you head over to the Color Throwdown to see all the wonderful designer samples and join us for fun and prizes every week! If you upload to a public gallery of an online stamping community please use keyword CTD59. Happy stamping and have a great day!

It's a Pixie

I just adore these cutie pies from CC Designs. You can find this Swiss Pixie and others at All That Scraps. I sent this to LeAnne for her birthday...and I hope she has it already!

I paired her with this great Basic Grey Lemonade paper. I thought I'd go a bit funky with her and paper piece her dress and boots in a fun pattern. She's colored with Copics and I glittered her wings with Diamond Glaze and ultra fine irridescent glitter. I added a piece of vellum between the layers which I edged with the SU scallop punch and added some fun flat backed Kaiser pearls to each scallop. She even has two tiny ones for pig tail holders. The cardstock and ribbon are both from PTI. In the photo below you can see some of the sparkly on her wings and that I added to her hair with a Sakura Stardust pen.

It's a lovely day here on Long Island and I am taking the day off to get some things done...including a pedicure! Ooh one of my favorites! Have a great day!

Some quick teachers gifts

This is the last week of school for my oldest son-I can't believe Kindergarten is over already! Sniff!! Anyway, in standard Danielle fashion here I am whipping up gifts at the last minute. I found all the items at Home Goods. Oh, how I love that store!

All images are from CC Designs, My Rubber Ducky set, found at All That Scraps. They were colored with Copics and cut out with Nesties.

In these two tins, which I bought for $1 at Target, I added a bottle of bath and shower gel and a matching scented bath salt. The lavender bath salt was in a huge container so I bought the little glass canister at Michaels, also for $1, and filled it up. I have lots more left for gifts (and maybe some for me too!).

The ribbon wouldn't lay nicely on the tin when I tried to wrap it around and being pressed for time I just opted for a simple bow.

The two boxes below are some great big gorgeous and fantastically smelling Italian Luxury Soaps! Well, that's what the box says! One is lavender and the other is almond and they smell so good! I love using these! I just made really simple belly bands for these and added some ribbon and bows using ribbon from PTI.

I added Diamond Glaze and some glitter to the bubbles for a little sparkle. Aren't they cute?

I feel guilty that I didn't get fancier on the packaging, and kinda skimped on the tin decorations, but I feel like time is something I just don't have these days! I keep thinking that one day I will catch up, but I think I keep getting busier! But you know, Joeys teachers won't know I could have gone crazy on these and will like them just the way they are. We are our own worst critics aren't we?

Have a great day and come back tomorrow for the new Color Throwdown!

Color Throwdown #42

This week our colors were chosen by LeAnne and they were tough for me! Good thing I peeked at theirs before I made mine though...talk about the whole team being on the same wave length! Not only might I have used the exact same stamps as another team member, but 3 others used the same Basic Grey paper that I thought about using myself! Check out the Color Throwdown here and see what I mean!

So my tubular monkey is from CC Designs Summertime Fun, which is on sale now btw... He is stamped in VersaFine black on Neenah Solar Crest Ultra Smooth cs and colored with my Prisma pencils and oms. I used Diamond Glaze on the tube polka dots and Stickles in Icicle and Waterfall on the water and sentiment and brad. The tempting turquoise panel is embossed with a cuttlebug folder and inked with a bit of Colorbox Frost White to make the swirls stand out. The ribbon is Lemon Tart from PTI and is a pretty close match to the So Saffron.

Here in this picture you can see the glitter and Diamond Glaze better. Make sure you check out all the wonderful team members cards and please use keyword CTD42 if you upload to a public gallery. Thanks and have a great day!

Happy Bird-day!

I originally made this card for the Wednesday Color Throwdown but then I realized that I used one of these birds the week before-so changed it last minute. Again I used the DCWV The Green Stack...man I LOVE that paper! Colored her with Copics, cut with Nesties, colored the tiny buttons with my Copics to match also. The cardstock is Certainly Celery and the PTI Spring Moss ribbon matches really well! The red polkadot paper is from Bo Bunny. I popped the birdie up on the white panel and added some sparkle with my trusty Sakura Stardust pen. Thanks for looking! Enjoy, it's Friday!

I'm back with the Color Throwdown #40

I had a long busy weekend and I'm still bushed, but it was wonderful! My new HD 20" flat panel monitor is due to arrive on Friday so I can do some serious photo editing and then hope to share some of my pictures with you.

This weeks lovely colors for the Color Throwdown are brought to us by our very own idol Barbara!

This cute bird is from the new set Tweet-ies from CC Designs at All That Scraps. Don't you just love the eyelashes on these birds?! Colored with Copics and cut out and matted with Nesties. The Ocean Mist ribbon from PTI matches the Sage Shadow cardstock perfectly! I just added a bow with a brad and some Dew Drops. There is some sparkle there too from a Sakura Stardust pen...but of course you can't see that!

Make sure you check out all the great samples this week and please play along. If you upload to a public gallery make sure you use CTD40 for your keyword.

Color Throwdown #26

It's Color Throwdown time again! This weeks colors are Passion Pink, Black, and Kraft. I pulled out my CC Designs Love Ya Much and stamped this cute little bunny who I thought would look great in pink. I then went over the pencil with Angel Wings Shimmerz paint. I also used some Marvy Liquid Applique on his tail.

The bunny is colored with Prisma pencils and odorless mineral spirits. I used the swiss dots Cuttlebug embossing folder on the pink back ground panel and then ran a white ink pad over the raised dots to make them stand out more. Then continuing with the dot theme I added them to the edge of the black die cut panel and then yet more with the ribbon. Polka Dot Overload I should call this one!

Check out the Color Throwdown blog and see what the other ladies have created! I hope you play along!

A late Monday post

I have finally decided to sit down at my pc today and catch up on my email. I even uploaded to SCS! I really slack on doing that. I am working on a card swap but ran out of black cs so until I can finish tomorrow I decided to make another Halloween card. Here's a card that I made today.
I used the adorable Spooky, Spooky, Spooky and Spooky Scene Set from CC Designs. All of the images in these sets are so cute. And did you know there was a suprise release on Friday? Yeah, I ordered another set...it's a sickness, but one that I KNOW you all can sympathize with!!
The above image is the front of the card. I cut a window in PTI cardstock and adhered acetate to the backside. I stamped the spider with Stazon and painted him from the back with acrylics. The white eyes on the front were also filled in with acrylic paint. I used some swiss dot black paper from Lasting Impressions to make the backside of the card. The width is just a 1/4 inch longer than the front so that I could fold it over and adhere it to the window panel. Then I used some trim from Doodlebugs Paper Frills to embellish. The Happy Halloween ribbon is from Martha Stewart that I got on clearance last year. The BOOOOOOO is stamped on Bazzill black with white acrylic and punched out. It's layer with a Making Memories brad and an orange Bazzill flower.
Below is the scene inside the card. I think it's cute but I wish I had made the sky a bit darker...seems too soft and pastel. But, that puppy is too cute for a super scary sky anyway, right? It's a little darker irl but I just couldn't do it justice in the photo. The fence is stamped on Lasting Impressions ( I can't believe they don't make these papers anymore!!) and cut out. The ghost is stamped in white and embossed on vellum and added to the scene. The moon was just a 1" circle I used for a mask and sponged around. I used Versa Magic in Night Sky, Pumpkin Spice, Perfect Plumeria, and Gingerbread for the background.

I could have kept building on the scene..like used grass so that Lucky isn't just floating-and maybe something in the tree-but if project, especially a card, takes too long, it's just not worth it because I won't give it away then! But these stamps just inpsire one to be creative. There are so many great samples out there.

Hope you enjoyed looking-have great afternoon!

Eeek! I did another challenge

Good night everyone! I should be in bed, like hours ago. I just wanted to get a challenge done and decided I wouldn't stop until I was really done...and finally it happened! This one is pulling double duty...first for the All That Scraps Wednesday challenge found here and also for the Split Coast Wednesday sketch challenge here. All images are from C.C. Designs.

Okay, really quick so I can get some beauty sleep, and God knows I need it! I used all PTI cardstock. Stamped in Memento tuxedo black and colored with Prismas and OMS. I used a black Spica pen on the spider and bat and they are both popped up-and then their eyes popped up again. I used Shimmerz Coal on his cape and diamond glaze on his shoes. Inked up the edges of each panel and threw it all together. You can see the dimension in the photo below. I have to work on my shading...this cutie vampire just doesn't have the depth I would have liked. I also rushed a bit, so shame on me for not putting more work into it. But he's still cute.

Tomorrow morning I will announce the blog candy winner. I hope everyone has a great night!!

ATS Design Team sketch challenge and an inaugural award!

Good afternoon! I was about to say morning, but boy, that one got away! I have a very simple card that I made for the All That Scraps design team challenge you can read about here. I'm afraid I am not very happy with this sample...I mean, it's cute, but I have to try again. Can I blame the kids? Oh, no, here they come...I can't even get through one post before they are fighting again, sigh. I can't wait until school starts!!!!

So I used one of the new C.C. Designs sets, Bear Hugs...I mean, those bees are irresistable! I guess I was thinking honey, which made me choose yellow and gold, so I just went with it and coordinated the flowers too. I colored the images with Prisma's and oms. The wings are covered with Diamond Glaze after I added sparkle with my Sakura stardust pen. Both bee's are cut out and popped up over the main image. The cs is all from PTI and the dp is Fancy Pants. The flowers are primas with a dot of liquid pearls and the ribbon is from Target. I found it in the bridal section on clearance and it's a perfect match to the PTI cs. I find that I use it a lot...it's a really nice quality too. I drew in the grass with a Sharpie so the flowers weren't just floating. There is some really light stippling too of yellow around the main panel and some green around the bears bottom and the grass.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I also received an award that I want to share with everyone. Curt from Curt's World awarded me with this wonderful and humbling blog award that he created and launched himself! What a gorgeous photograph!! I am so flattered! Check out his blog-he has wonderful creations and photographs! I love his dogs too-just want to give them big hugs!!
Thank you so much Curt-your comments and this inaugural award mean so much to me!
And last but not least, the mail carrier was just here with my new Whipper Snapper stamps...and you know I got the two new Anna Wight Halloween sets! Between these and the PTI Halloween set I got on Saturday I will be buried under ink and paper all week! I am so excited!
Wishing everyone a fabulous day!!
Scuba Kitty and a blog candy alert!
Good morning! I received my new CC Designs stamps over the weekend and I couldn't wait to use them! I saw on Julia's blog that she posted a beautiful gate fold card and I hadn't done one in ages so that was my mission. I made this one smaller than I usually do so I found that the kitty image I wanted to use on the front was too large and so I had to improvise. I was creating with a friend when she suggested to put the image on the inside, so now I just had to find one for the outside. There wasn't another one in the set that was small enough but I knew it needed to be whimsical and aquatic and I think this fish does the job! It's from Dewey, Inkum, and Howe and I've had it for ages and I don't think I have ever used it!
The pink cardstocks are from Papertrey and the dp is Doodlebug. Both images are colored with Copics and accented with Sakura Stardust and Crystal Lacquer. I used scallop circle punches for the front image and added a magnet closure to keep the flaps closed as you can see in the bottom picture.
I am not sure what I will be using this card for yet but I added "swimtastic" to the outside. I don't know why except it sounded cute (and it's in the set!). What does is mean exactly and how will it translate to the receiver? I guess I'll figure that out whent he time comes! I also have been thinking about adding more embellishments but the card is on the small side so I don't want to overwhelm it and I need to keep them small and simple. The kitty's flippers are paper pieced and the one pointed up is on dimensionals but I didn't really capture that in the photo.
This card was really fun to make and I have another one getting ready to go. Don't forget to check out the blog candy being offered below!
Magnolia Blog Candy Offer!
Ila is generously offering Magnolia blog candy this week. Go to her site, enter a comment, and give a shout out on your blog, if you have one, about it in order to get into the drawing. She's a wonderful artist and visiting her blog is always a pleasure! Have a great night everyone!
It's all about the presents....a fitting sentiment!
Can you believe this is my third post in a row? I have one more too for tomorrow!! I know, crazy, right?!
On to the card. I made this for a friend's son who just celebrated his first birthday!! I just adore the stamps from CC Designs! They are so much fun to color and you can do so much with them. How funny is that sentiment? Ok, so the image is stamped with Palette Noir and colored with my Copics. I don't usually have such a hard time with them, but I am not really happy with the shading on the presents. I also had a tough time with Lucky's spot! It was too dark so I tried to lighten with my colorless blender...then I accidentally got dark brown in it while I was coloring his body...again with colorless blender trying to salvage the image. Yikes! Luckily I use Papertrey Ink white cardstock and it's heavy enough to handle that kind of abuse....super paper!! The design paper is from K&Co. It's a Brenda Walton designer pad called Small Wonder. I love their paper pads. I pulled all of my colors from the background panel. I went over the ribbons and bows on the presents and his hat with a stardust pen for a little sparkle. I also used my nestabilities for the sentiment which is popped up on foam dots. Finished with a ribbon! I still think he's adorable and I see myself using the stamps from this set, and especially this sentiment, a lot! Have a great day!
p.s. thanks for all the nice comments on my Lilac card...I have to say that it's one of my current fav's.
Dog Gone Cute!!
I used the reverse mask technique that I saw on Julie's blog here under "Hoo loves ya baby?!". I thought it would be perfect for this adorable little dog from C.C. Designs. I traced a heart onto cardstock and cut it out (from the inside so not to cut through mask) and placed the outer paper onto white cardstock. I sponged ink in Brilliance Pearlescent Orchid inside the heart, darker around the edges and left the center light where I would be placing the image. I stamped the dog in Distress in Black Soot and colored him in with Copic markers. I decided the image needed something extra after I mounted it so I doodled around the frame with a brown Sharpie. I added the ribbon and a cute big brad from Making Memories. I made these cute little hearts with the Martha Stewart punch new for Valentines Day (which I saw on Cammie's blog). It's really hard to punch but they are so cute! I added a little brad in the center of one which is also from Making Memories. I love this design paper but I just can't remember who's it is. The whole thing is mounted on Kraft cardstock which I love. I hope you enjoy looking at this!
