Wednesdays Color Throwdown

swatch 161
What can I say about this color combo?  I love it!  Kristin our hostess with the mostess this week is rockin’ the Color Throwdown with these colors inspired by her new digi papers created for MTME.
I used this adorable bunny image from The Cat’s Pajama’s called Wheel Love.   Ooh, look at that nose and those jumbo ears!  I love him!!

Okay, okay, on to the details!  All of my patterned paper is from the digi paper pack Trendy Forest from MTME.   I loves it!  I couldn’t decide which prints to use, so I used them all (of the one’s that matched this challenge!)  My bunny colored with Copics and matted with a Spellbinders Lacey Circles die.  I just added a ribbon and some twine tied buttons.  The banner is a PTI die and stamped with an old sentiment stamp…might be sassy stamps…any way, I just love this whimsical font.
Please stop on by the Color Throwdown and give this combo a try!  For your inspiration and enjoyment visit the ladies below for any eyeful!

Ethan’s Rodeo and JUGS

Hi everyone! Today we are heading out the door shortly to the amusement park for my son’s birthday. It’s a beautiful day and I am looking forward to the sunshine and fresh air.

Today I wanted to let you know about an annual fundraiser called Ethan’s Rodeo. Ethan lost his fight with neuroblastoma, a childhood cancer responsible for approximately 15% of all childhood cancer deaths.

All proceeds from Ethan’s Rodeo benefit research of neuroblastoma. Please visit the website for more information.

The JUGS team is helping to promote this event with a challenge, so head on over and check them out and join in!

Today I am using a long neglected set from The Cat’s Pajama’s called It’s a Western Thing. Sprinkle is looking quite fancy in her turquoise rodeo outfit!

I used dp from the Oliver line by Basic Grey. I embossed the sentiment to make it pop and the image and mat were cut with Spellbinders Nestabilities. Some rustic twine wrapped around the star stamped panel repeats the lasso. She’s colored with Copics on Flourishes Classic White card stock and her eyes are glittered.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you check out the link to Ethan’s Rodeo. Have a fantastic weekend!

TCP Tuesday Challenge

I've been a lazy poster this week! Busy with Pre-K graduation and volunteering I did earlier in the week. I did however manage to get a challenge done and another one in the works! Okay so this one is a few days late, but I got it done! Crazy right? Okay so Leigh is the hostess with the mostess this week and you can find the challenge on her blog here.
I used my new It's a Mod Mod World from The Cats Pajamas of course! I stamped both poochie and the saucer in Versa Fine black on Bazzill cs. The bottom of the vehicle is colored with a black Spica pen for some sparkle and I coated the entire dome with Judikins Diamond Glaze to make it look like glass. The background around and behind the image is stamped with the stardust stamp in Brilliance Moonlight to resemble outerspace. I added some Sakura stardust to that for more sparkle. The paper is from Cosmo Cricket-Cogsmo:Mr. Roboto double sided and those great flat brads are from American Crafts. I finished by adding some faux stitching with a black Micron pen around the red panels. The main image is popped up on dimensionals. I think it came out pretty cute and would be a good boys birthday card. I will add a sentiment as needed!

I can't believe I did a Splitcoast Challenge!

This is my first ever....I think I read them once or twice and thought it would be fun, but I just never seem to have the time. Today though I saw this card on Julia's blog and I just had to do it. I love the design and it was kinda easy. I know, that was probably the kiss of death saying that, but it was for me anyway.

The dp is Kaisercraft double sided. The image is from The Cats Pajamas, colored with Copics and cut out with my oval nestabilities. The ribbon is from Target...a really nice roll from their wedding collection that was on clearance! I guess orange isn't a big wedding color, lol! The flowers are new from Prima that I found in Michaels, and fixed with a sparkly brad from the Target dollar spot. I added buttons to balance the design. I also stamped images from Hampton (clear set with a tropical theme) in Versa Mark down the right inside of the card that shows and dusted them with I Kan Dee pearlescent chalk. I added some stardust to Sprinkles necklace and her ice cubes and the glass I coated with Diamond Glaze.

In this image you can see the tiny images that are on the right side...

This was a lot of fun to make. I guess because the sketch already gave me my layout, all I had to do was come up with the colors and image. I had TCP on the brain because I think about doing those challenges every week! And I just love this summer image...I mean look at that swanky kitty! I want that to be me right now! This paper is part of one of my recent purchases that I haven't put away yet, so voila, there were my colors! Tres facile! Wow, didn't know I could speak that much French! Have a great night!

Hope it makes you feel better!

I made this card for my 4 year old son's daycare teacher who is out of work for a few weeks after having gall bladder surgery.

I just love the little stamps from The Cats Pajamas, the images are so adorable! I knew little Sprinkle was going to come in handy and although it's for someone who's not feeling up to par, I was so excited to use it! All images and sentiment from TCP. Stamped on PTI white with Distress Black Soot and colored with Copic markers. The edges sponged lightly with Colorbox Cats Eye pigment ink in Velvet. Matted on Bazzill cardstock and design paper from Kaiser Kraft and stitched around the edges. The sentiment is popped up on the image also sponged. I added the two Prima flowers with a brad from Making Memories and some matching ribbon. I neglected to photograph the inside and I stamped the cutest hot water bottle and colored it to match. Sorry! And I think the bling flower is from Target and was in a $1 little embellishment kit...it was such a great touch! This was such a fun image to color. Thanks for looking!
