I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and you are all recovering from Black Friday shopping :) I do most of mine online, and quite a bit on Etsy this year. I cringe when I drive past Walmart and Best Buy or the mall on this weekend. Of course I still have a whole lotta crafting to do and so little time, so that makes me cringe too! LOL! Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Flourishes March Sneak Peeks begin!

Today begins the Flourishes sneak peek for March. Our first set is Lenten Rose. I selected one of the lovely images from this set and a sentiment to make this simple card.

I cased this card by Paula Willamson here. I absolutely loved the simplicity and all the white space! I actually have that same butterfly stamp too, so I could really CASE it, lol!

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Flourishes Classic White card stock and colored it with Copic markers. I stamped it so that part of it would extend past the end of the panel. I then used a Copic Multi-liner pen and drew in the lines around the panel free hand. I shaded around the image with Prismacolor pencils and oms and also added Flower Soft to the flower centers. Lastly I popped the finished panel up on a white card base.

Is it my blogaversary again?!

How does this keep getting past me? Remember last year it snuck up on me and I said to come back soon I’d be posting blog candy…uh, then I never got around to it and before you know it another year has gone by! Today is my 3rd blogaversary and to make up for being a huge slacker last year I am going to chose 2 winners from comments on this here post! I have made up two packages, each containing a Flourishes stamp set and a pad of patterned paper. I also have a Martha Stewart cardinal punch and several High Hopes images. I will divide up the goodies and pick two random winners!

So let’s give you something to comment on…I never seemed to get around to posting this:

I attended a wedding at the end of September and this was the card I gave. It was a true autumn wedding and these were the bridal colors. I embossed the white shimmer background panel with the In Bloom Impression plate from Papertrey Ink. I then used the In Bloom stamp set, stamping the largest flower on patterned paper from Autumn Abundance and the leaves on another pattern. The word Cherish is from an SU set and a few simple pearls just finish it off.

Sunday's High Hopes Challenge #60 and a big winner!!!

This weeks High Hopes challenge from Alex is to create a scene. Now specifically it is to be 3 images or more, but I only used two. I was hoping my sentiment would count as one, but when I didn't have one appropriate I wrote my own...so I kinda cheated!

I've used two more of Dustin Pike's new images from the recent release. They are colored with Copics, the monkey with Prismacolor Pencils and oms overtop. Both the top and bottom of the cupcake were paper pieced and the sprinkles were coated with Liquid Pearls. The balloon was also coated over with Crystal Effects and the party hat pompom on the fish was flocked. The paper is from The Sweet Stack from DCWV and the ribbon from PTI.

I knew I wanted to do blog candy when I hit 100 followers and today I am at 101, woo hoo! Seriously, I can't remember the last time I gave anything away and it's high time.

It's Blog Candy time!

To celebrate one year on the web I have some nice blog candy to give away. This package includes a gorgeous new clear set from Inkadinkado with the most beautiful hearts and flowers! I then found this gorgeous new paper from Making Memories called Sabrina. It's perfect for all those Valentines I know you will be making! The patterns in the 6x6 pad are slightly distressed and so pretty!

The matching buttons are gorgeous...you can see them better in the close up. I finished it up with some matching pink ribbon.

Over the last year since I began blogging I have made so many friends and I have learned so much! There is such a world of talent and information that I feel fortunate to be a part of. So much sharing of knowledge, products, and pure talent...not to mention the comraderie!

High Hopes Hop and some Blogger info

High Hopes is having a blog hop. Check out this new wonderful blog! Then go check out Ila's blog Artfully Ila to see her wonderful High Hopes card and info on the blog candy she is offering. I love High Hopes stamps! I cannot get enough of them. If they don't stop with all this Hot off the Press stuff I am gonna be broke!

Now I want to mention how cool this new Followers feature on Blogger is. I saw it on a couple of other blogs and didn't really pay much attention at first. But then when I went to create a post there was a place to list all of the blogs that I follow. So I decided to look into it further. I was able to take every blog I am subscribed to in my Google Reader and import it into Blogger Followers and now everyone who displays the Follower icon on their blog will see me. It was so cool to click on each person pictured on the gadget who is following my blog (all 6 of them, lol!) and see who they are and read their profile.

I really prefer to use Google Reader to stay updated on my subcriptions rather than an email feed. It's so easy now to just click on the "Follow this blog" option if I am on someone's Google blog and it adds right to my subscriptions. If you use Blogger, check it out!

Linked you on my blog. My fave halloween costume was a dice (die), I never have figured that out. Anyway, it was a big box we painted white and put black dots on and I wore a black leotard under it.

How about candy for breakfast?

I do have some cards to share but I thought first thing on Monday morning candy would be nicer-blog candy that is! I put together a fun little package of halloween goodies. So just for the heck of it, here it is:

The picture could be better but there's a 4x6 mat pad with great halloween paper and matching rub-ons from K& Company, a two pack of punches, one with a pumpkin and one with a spider from Paper Shapers, and three great halloween clear stamp sets from Studio G. I bought myself a couple of these they're so darn cute! Oops, the ribbon didn't make it into the shot-well, it'll be a surprise then won't it? You can see the stamps better in the picture below.

So in order to enter you have to do two things: First tell me what was your favorite halloween costume you ever wore and second, I'd really love it if you would spread the blog candy word and post it on your blog if you have one.
