Is it really New Year's Eve already?

Yikes! I've been off since Christmas Eve and I seem to have lost all conception of time and day. It's children really...you know they kill adult brain cells, right? Thank goodness they're cute! Anyway, I finally found a way to recover the corrupt files from my cf card from my digital camera. I had taken pictures of some Christmas cards that I wanted to share and also some pictures of my puppy romping through the snow for the first time. I am so glad I was able to recover them. I am just going to post them all here without detail. If anyone wants to know any products please contact me!

I was able to get the back door open after mother nature dropped about 16 inches on us last week and I shoveled this path to the grass in my backyard including about a 3 foot circle for Rosie to do her, uh, business...


After a few cautious steps and a thorough smell down she began to run back in forth in the path.

Then she went for it-an all out romp into the deep fluffy white stuff itself! This is my favorite picture! Can't you just see the joy in that furry face?! The snow was up to her head and when she ran through it it looked as though she was swimming-it was really funny!



Here are a couple of money holders I made to send off to my niece and nephew...I used an EK Success reindeer punch.

I survived Monday

It wasn't easy I tell ya...but here we are into Tuesday! Here is the card I referred to yesterday which I also added a glow to with my Copics. This one is much softer.

This is a Penny Black Hedgie image sent to me by the very generous Tammy Buck! I colored it with my Copics but was unhappy with how dark the hedgie was so I went over it many times with my Colorless Blender to push the color out to the fur and lighten up the face and belly. For a large area like that it tends to get a bit blotchy, so I am not really happy with that. But I kept at it until it was acceptable. Again I outlined with the Cool Shadow and used the blender to soften it...it's a bit more subtle on this image. I used my Quickie Glue pen and some very fine glitter to add a little sparkle which you can see in the close up below.


The white panel is embossed with the Swiss Dot Cuttlebug folder and the floral paper is from Making Memories Chloe's Closet. The blue cardstock and ribbon are both Spring Rain from PTI. And....I used my brand new Bow Easy to make those perfect little bows! I won it from Jenny of One Krafty Kat last week. I watched the video tutorial (several times actually!) to learn how to make a bow. I could never have figured it out from the printed directions! Now that I know how to use it (it's quite easy) I am anxious to make more bows! You can find the tutorial here, thanks Jerri!!

It's Color Throwdown Wednesday

Wow, Wednesday comes fast! Here we go again...this weeks Color Throwdown colors chosen by Cathy...and they are lovely!

This adorable frog is from Penny Black...another wood mount I have had for a while. I am being better at pulling them out and using them recently. I seem to have all my unmounted and clear stamps at hand, in folders or cd cases at my fingertips so I don't tend to go off into my storage boxes for the mounted images much anymore. I have a very large and nice looking display shelf that I picked up when my favorite stamp store went out of business about 2 years ago. It is still sitting and waiting for hubs to finish my stamp room so it can once again become useful. I really can't wait to fill it with my wood mounted stamps. I LOVE looking at them!

Anyway, the image is stamped on Neenah solar crest white and colored with Copics. Eggplant cardstock is Prism and the turquoise is a scrap....closest I could get to tempting turquoise. The flowers and ribbon are from Michaels. I had bought some silk flowers a while ago and every now and then the color is just right and I pluck them off their stems for a card or project. I don't remember who makes the patterned paper...I have had it a long time. The gems in the center of each flower is turqoise to match the decorative strip and I tucked a little green sprig from a Martha Stewart punch behind them.

It's a hoppy birthday

I made this birthday card for a new friend who is also a fellow stamper. I hope I can deliver it to her before she reads this post!

I love the Penny Black whimsical images and this frog was being neglected. I stamped several images that I had yet to see ink and brought them upstate with me when we went up for the long weekend before Labor day. One day after we hiked and were too tired to do anything else, my son Joey and I sat and colored. As much as I like dimension and thought about paper piecing this, I was really happy with the way the coloring with my Copics came out and decided I liked it as a one dimensional image. I used some new Shimmerz paint to liven up the flower center, the frogs cheeks (do they have cheeks?) and the corners of the image panel. The gorgeous dp is Eva from Basic Grey. The ribbon and the sentiment is from PTI, Pond Life set.

This frog just makes me smile! Hope you do to!

She's Amazing!

I made this card for my husbands neice. She's 14 and an amazing singer. She tried out for her high school jazz band last week and won lead singer! She loves to sing broadway tunes and we love listening to her-we are so proud! All the stamps are from Verve Visual except the sheet music which is from Penny Black. I used Versa Fine Vintage Sepia for all inked images and various brown Ranger Distress inks for the edges of the panels. The ribbon is from Taylored Expressions and the brads are Basic Grey from the Sugared collection. I added stickles to each and to the body of the butterfly for a little sparkle. The base card is PTI cardstock in white and all the dp is BG Sultry line. I love this paper! Well most all of BG paper....their 6x6 patterns are a perfect scale for card making and so convenient!

I spent most of the day in the yard doing gardening projects. The weather was so beautiful and I got a little more sun than intended. My seasonal colors are white and pink. There is no tan for me *sigh* but I have learned to live with it (and little color from the bottle too!). I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Have a great Monday! Was that an oxymoron?!
