Wednesday's Color Throwdown #179

I know what you’re thinking…it’s about time, right?  But it’s here now :)   I just love this weeks color challenge picked by Kristin, yay!  I already made so many Valentine’s Day cards so I tried hard to avoid any hearts on today’s card.

I used this adorable image that was sent to me from a friend a few years ago.  I know!  I’ve had it that long!  It’s a Forever Bear image from Hallmark and I know some UK stores carry them, but I really don’t know where to get this image.

All of the beautiful patterned paper was created by Kristin too!  It’s a digi pack called Candy Kisses and you can buy it from MTME.  It’s so pretty!

I colored it with Copic markers and shaded around the image with Prismacolor pencils and oms.  I cut it out using a Spellbinders Classic Rectangle die and sponged inside the die with Wheat ink from a Versa Magic Dew Drop.  The mat behind the image is Labels Eleven.    I used a Martha Stewart border punch on the bottom panel and lots of paper flowers from Prima with button centers along the top.  The buttons looked too plain, so I thought, lets add some microbeads!  Oh, what a hot mess I created!  Then I added some more and then glitter on top.   Yikes, it could have been worse, but really, what WAS I thinking?!  Although now they looks like little sugared candy centers, so I kinda like ‘em.  The leaves were created with a a Die-namics from MFT and I stuck in some sprigs I created with another Martha Stewart punch.
Check out all the beautiful samples the design team has to share this week and don’t forget to head on over to the Color Throwdown to enter your own creation.  All details are on the blog.  Have a great day!

Is it really New Year's Eve already?

Yikes! I've been off since Christmas Eve and I seem to have lost all conception of time and day. It's children really...you know they kill adult brain cells, right? Thank goodness they're cute! Anyway, I finally found a way to recover the corrupt files from my cf card from my digital camera. I had taken pictures of some Christmas cards that I wanted to share and also some pictures of my puppy romping through the snow for the first time. I am so glad I was able to recover them. I am just going to post them all here without detail. If anyone wants to know any products please contact me!

I was able to get the back door open after mother nature dropped about 16 inches on us last week and I shoveled this path to the grass in my backyard including about a 3 foot circle for Rosie to do her, uh, business...

After a few cautious steps and a thorough smell down she began to run back in forth in the path.

Then she went for it-an all out romp into the deep fluffy white stuff itself! This is my favorite picture! Can't you just see the joy in that furry face?! The snow was up to her head and when she ran through it it looked as though she was swimming-it was really funny!

Here are a couple of money holders I made to send off to my niece and nephew...I used an EK Success reindeer punch.

This image is from Penny Black...Peas on Earth, get it?! Oh, just cracks me up! Yeah, I'm easy...

Another Forever Bear...I love these cuties!

Oh, and my Bella Carollers. I love these adorable animals!

I wish everyone a very Happy and Healthy New Year! Be back soon with regular posts! Have a great holiday weekend!

Are you snowed in?

I'll let you know in the morning! I had to force open the back door to let the dog out around 9pm and it's after midnight as I type this and it's still snowing. The drifts on my windows is obscuring my view, well that, and it's dark! Anyway, just wanted to share some more Christmas cards.

These two images are Forever Friends and they were stamped images sent to me by my friend Tammi. They are just so cute! I kept the designs super simple so the focus would be on the bears. Ok, that and it was late and I was tired and I was rushing to get them into the mail so the recipients would get them before Christmas. You're gonna see more like this over the next couple of days!

Both images were colored with Copic markers and are paired with Wassail paper from Basic Grey. The holly punch is from Martha Stewart and I used some tiny gems for berries. There is Polar Ice Flower Soft on both cards and I used some Diamond Glaze on the lantern to make it look like glass.

I hope I can get my door open in the morning and take some snow pictures to share you with. My hubby took the boys upstate for the weekend and while it's been quiet here and I got tons done today, I don't have anyone to shovel! Guess, I'll be getting a workout with that shovel...
