Wednesdays Color Throwdown and pictures!

Welcome to the Color Throwdown #180 hosted this week by Lori Tecler!  This lovely combo really had me scratching my head, but another Wryn came to the rescue. 

This adorable digital image is from Tiddly Inks and it was printed on Flourishes Classic White card stock along with the sentiment and colored with Copics.   After coloring I cut out the image with a Spellbinders Classic Rectangle die then sponged it with London Fog from Memento with the die still in place.   All of the paper is from MME, Stella and Rose, Hattie.

This past weekend I went to the Intermediate Copic Certification class in Richmond Virginia and was instructed by the wonderful Debbie Olson.  I also got to meet several fellow CTD ladies and we had a wonderful time!

Here I am with Kristine Eberline at the hotel.  I spent the weekend at Kristin's house and she is a wonderful hostess!  I felt right at home with great food and friends!

Last but not least, here we are again at Red Robin, getting a little sustenance before heading back to class!  

 

These ladies are all so sweet and I had a wonderful time meeting and spending time with everyone and I hope we can do it again in the near future!  

The Lilacs are in Bloom

And this one is perfect for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge which is to use beads or pearls on your project. I have always loved this lilac stamp and this is my first time inking it up, yikes! I colored it with Copics...having thought I would use it for last weeks Copic Creations Challenge, but then I covered it all in Art Quest Pastel and Metallic watercolors. Of course the paint is just adding mostly shimmer. The shading is done with the Copics.

After coloring and painting (on Neenah Solar Crest Ultra Smooth cs) I then sprayed the entire panel with Glimmer Mist in Vanilla Breeze-it has such a beautiful shimmer! The image panel is layered on Prism cs and popped up on more Prism cs. The ribbon I think is from Flourishes...it's two sided, luscious and silky! I added a bow at the top and finished it off with flat backed pearls.

My lilacs are now in bloom and smell divine-they are my very favorite flower! I had posted last year about my grandfathers lilac bush which I transplanted from his home in the Adirondacks to my yard only to have workmen here destroy half of it. I transplanted it yet again to a safer part of the yard. It had never bloomed at his home that I or my mother can ever remember. It was in a lot of shade and being crowded out by a much larger tree and had no chance. I was afraid it would never survive the move but an employee of a local nursery told me that it could take as long as 3 years after a transplant for the bush to recover and if it is still getting new growth not to give up. Well...I am happy to report that after being in my yard for 3 years it now has it's first and only flower! I did such a happy dance! I have 3 others in full bloom as well so I am in my glory! Come on-happy dance with me! Ok, you don't have to...but I still will!
