Fa la la la la!

I’ve always said, to myself, that I should start my Christmas cards early…once a month at least, so that I have a bunch done before it becomes a mad rush to get finished.  So, when I saw a post from Holly Brown for The Holiday Inspiration Club from Rogue Redhead Designs I decided it was time to get started.  I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to ink up all those Christmas and winter images I’ve collected over the years and have not yet used.
The first challenge is to create a one layer project.    I pulled out this cutie from Purple Onion Designs.  The bird is Silver from the Stacey Yacula Studio line.

First I stamped the winter bough in Bamboo ink from Memento, then I added Silver on top.  I also stamped the ornament from winter adornments and colored all with Copic markers.  I added lots of sparkle using a Quickie Glue Pen and ultra fine glitter.  Lastly I stamped the sentiment from the Winter Wishes Sentiment Set.
Now all I have to do is keep it up!  Wish me luck! 

Hi There!

I got my hands on new rubber from Purple Onion Designs several weeks ago and finally started inking them up!  These cuties are  new from Stacey Yacula Studios.
This is Shadow.  Isn’t he adorable?!



I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and based it with Copic markers.  I then used Prismacolor pencils and oms to shade over the marker and around the image.   I sponged Wheat ink around the image panel with a VersaMagic Dew Drop.   I used Stickles to add some sparkle to the image also.

The patterned paper is from Simple Stories Vintage Bliss collection.  I used several scraps of solid coordinating cardstock to punch leaves, using a Martha Stewart punch, and lined them up as a border along the edge of the image.  I used a stylus to add a vein to each leaf for a little texture.   The dark teal mat was cut with a border punch also from MS, the pattern repeating the branch that Shadow is standing on.

Wednesday’s Color Throwdown

Welcome to another Color Throwdown hosted by me, Danielle! Here’s this weeks colors which were inspired by the DCWV Mat Stack called Mediterranean Cafe.

For my card I used the Late 1800's Script Background and the Vintage Butterfly Set.

The background panel was stamped on Flourishes Classic Ivory card stock in black. I stamped various sizes of the butterflies on all three colors of cardstock with Versafine Vintage Sepia ink and cut them out. They are all popped up on dimensional adhesives following the diagonal line in the patterned paper from Mediterranean Cafe by DCWV which I tore and applied over the script background. The entire back panel was sponged on the edges with VersaMagic chalk ink in Wheat.

All of the butterflies and the script background were sprayed with three different colors of Glimmer Mist: Chestnut Brown, Iridescent Gold, and Sugar Cookie. There’s a lovely sparkle and aging all over. I used a piece of lace and twine wrapped around it and finished with a button and leaf stick pin from Little Yellow Bicycle. This is really vivid and shimmery in real life!
