Mod Flowers

Happy Birthday to me! I made myself some flowers! The boys gave me each adorable funny cards they picked out themselves and Barnes and Noble gift cards...can't wait to use those! Hubs is taking me out to dinner tonight and my gift might be cumulative (meaning we roll b-day, anniversary, and Christmas into one)since the new camera lens I'd like is pricey.

These flowers are from Whipper Snappers 2009 Fall/Winter Collection. They are colored with Copics and matted on a nestie die cut.

Sorry this is so short but I gotta run to the vet now and my 3 1/2 year old still isn't ready, ack!

Have a great weekend!!

Snowman's friend

Just a quick post today with another new Whipper Snapper image from the 2009 Fall/Winter Collection. He's colored with Copics and accented with Martha Stewart glitter flakes. Just a simple button and twine as an accent. The Christmas dp...it's on the tip of my tongue...let ya know when I remember it! Happy Tuesday!

Ooh, maybe Imaginisce! Yeah, I think that's the paper! Someone correct me if I am wrong please!

Mower Love on Friday

First, a moment to remember those we lost on 9/11...

I never realized how profoundly the events of that day had affected me. Still today, I can't even explain what happened when my son asks, without getting so choked up that I can no longer speak. I'll never forget the intense silence that afternoon-not a sound from a car, a bird, the wind...nothing after it happened-like the world stood still. While I did not lose anyone close to me, I know people who did. And I remember trying to call friends all afternoon, who worked in Manhattan, to see if they made it out. My husbands cousin was there, as a NYC fire fighter. His stories go beyond anything we read in the newspaper or saw on television.

Let's us remember...something we can never forget.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yay, it's Friday! Hubs was busy cutting the lawn and so I thought it was appropriate to show this card today. This fun image is from Whipper Snapper. You can find it in the 2009 Fall/Winter collection.
Love You Mower is very simply colored with Copic markers and layered on floral pp. I can't remember who's it is...could be Fancy Pants again, but I really don't remember...I have so many scraps! The "grass" is just a strip of green cardstock that I trimmed with decorative scissors and then cut vertical strips so that I could bend them this way and that! Just a big fun button and some twine finish off this simple and silly card. Enjoy the weekend!
That's a lot of ice cream!
One can never have too much ice cream, right? Here's another image from the Whipper Snapper 2009 Fall/Winter collection. This one is called Haagen-Daz Bear. He does love his Haagen-Daz!
The image is stamped on Neenah Solar Crest White Ultra Smooth cardstock and colored with Copics. I did add a bit of sparkle with my Sakura Stardust gelly roll pen, but again you can't really see it in the picture, sigh. I paired him up with this pretty plaid paper from the Lemonade collection by Basic Grey. The pink cardstock and ribbon are both from PTI.
I just noticed...funny how we overlook these things...that many of my Whipper Snapper images have no sentiments. I actually do that a lot, so that I can customize the card when I am ready to use it. This could be for a birthday, get well, cheer up, sayin HI...anything. But in my haste ( and being the busiest summer ever!) I did it a bit more than I normally do. In any case, I hope you enjoy the image!
We had a splendid weekend and I hope everyone enjoyed theirs as much as I did mine. Now it's back to the old grind...which is a good thing for me! Happy Tuesday!
Bloom
There's not too much more blooming time left, yikes! I love the fall, so I am not sad though I must admit. I am all too happy to turn off the A/C and open the windows and to don a sweatshirt early in the morning and again in the evening!
This gorgeous image is a new release from the Whipper Snapper 2009 Fall/Winter collection. You can find Garden Bloom here. I colored up this image with Copics after stamping with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Neenah Solar Crest White Ultra Smooth cardstock. I can't remember the maker of the striped paper but the hydrangeas are Prima and the flat backed pearls Kaiser. The entire image is accented with a Stardust gelly roll pen from Sakura. The base cardstock is Prism and the mat layer PTI. This is such a pretty image and so much fun to color!
I hope everyone is gearing up for a nice holiday weekend. The weather should be lovely here in the North East and my hubs is taking the boys upstate for a couple of days-yea!! I do miss them when they are gone, but just thinking of the stamping and shopping time I will have all to myself makes my skirt fly up! Woo hoo!! Have a good one!
Rockin' Robin
Is this little bird from Whipper Snapper the cutest or what?! Conway Tweetie is his name and he is part of the 2009 Fall/Winter Release images. I loved making him into a Robin.
Stamped on Neenah cardstock and colored with Copics and accented with glitter from a Sakura Stardust gelly roll pen. The mat is a piece of Bo Bunny dot pp and the base is Bazzill cardstock. I used a Martha Stewart border punch on vellum from PTI and added a piece of PTI twill ribbon before zig zag stitching down both sides. The flowers are from Prima with a tiny brad in the center. There are so many fun images from Whipper Snapper and I am not done yet!! Hope everyone had a great weekend!
Are you seeing a theme here?
I know, it's another surfer, but isn't he groovy? This Whipper Snapper image from Anna Wight is colored again with Copic markers on Neenah cardstock. I cut a palm tree out of the design paper and used it as an accent on the main image. I totally dig the floral trunks with the belt! Stick around for more new fall and winter images coming your way! Have a great day!
Well it's about time!
Sorry I've been away so long. I had been on a little trip to the Adirondacks the last three days following a 60th birthday party and precluding a wedding tonight and another birthday party tomorrow. Can I say that I am tired? I am soooo tired! But I hope that you are not tired of seeing the new Whipper Snapper release images because I have several more to share over the next week or so. And before summer is over (and yes, I am so ready for the kids to go back to school!) I have some adorable summer time images to share.
Stamped on Neenah Solar Crest Ultra Smooth white cardstock and colored with Copics. Simple buttons and several layers and bright colors just make this Big Kahuna come to life!
I guess I'd better get on that wedding card, ya know, seeing as the wedding is this evening. Oh boy, it's hard getting back into a routine, but I am so looking forward to it. This has been the busiest summer I have ever had and I don't wanna do it again (crying)!!! Enough whining! I hope everyone is enjoying the end of summer and I look forward to catching up with all my fellow bloggers!
Cool waves and it's a bowling party
It's been so hot here the last week that I wish I was that fish in the water! I hate the hot hot humid weather. I'm a crank when I am sticky, ew! So today the fish is appropriate...the cool colors and waves are refreshing!
This fish school is another new release from Whipper Snapper. It's colored with Copics and paired up with some fun paper from Imaginisce. I punched the top edge of the dp panel with a Fiskars Wave Border punch and added some random raindrops to the dp and for the fish's bubbles. Hello is from the Anna Wight designed set Sending Happy Thoughts.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

We celebrated Joey's birthday at a local bowling alley with some of his friends on Sunday. I appropriately made him bowling pin and bowling ball cupcakes. The design came from Hello Cupcake, a wonderful cupcake decorating book. Mine however were less like bowling pins and more like melting ghosts...but in the end they were cute and the kids loved them! And I was done making them by midnight Saturday night and able to take some pictures and get some sleep...so it was all good! You can't expect anything less than last minute with me these days... Anyway, here are some pics!

Frightful and Delightful

Here's another Whipper Snapper from the new release. I love this kitty's big nose! I thought after I colored it that I should have made it pink...but my kitty has a black nose so it's in her likeness :) It's colored with Copics on Neenah Solar Crest white ultra smooth. I paired with with some layered Prima flowers and a brad that I sparkled up with some orange Stickles. The sentiment is from Anna Wight's set Spooky Expressions. The tiny flowers are from Stamping Bella. You'll see some random sparkle if you click on the picture and enlarge it too!

I hope everyone had a great weekend-we attended my hubs cousins annual Tiki party and it was a blast! Great food, great weather, great friends and family-good times! Have a great day!

It's getting spooky

Is it getting close to Halloween yet? It's my favorite holiday and my favorite time of the year! There are some new awesomely adorable Halloween and fall images from the 2009 Fall/Winter Collection from Whipper Snapper.

How cute are these pumpkins?! I colored each one with a slightly different shade/combination of orange Copics so they would really keep their individuality! There's lots of sparkle around the image with icicle Stickles-too bad you can't see it, lol! I pulled out my stash of Halloween paper from last year and decided on this simple spiderweb design, although I can't remember whose it is...sorry! The printed ribbon and the larger punched bats are both from Martha Stewart Crafts. The bats be all glittered up with Stickles to! There is a bit of sponging around the image panel for some added warmth.

So, are you looking forward to Halloween? My older son has already chosen his costume! Have a great Friday!

Just Chillin'

Keeping cool here with this adorable penguin trio from Whipper Snapper! One of the new 2009 Fall/Winter Collection images these guys are just too cute for words! Colored with Copics on Neenah cardstock and cut out using Nesties.

The cardstock is Bazzill and some textured pink paper (similar to a mulberry) that I had in my stash. It was just the perfect shade for the great snowflake pp from Chatterbox. The ribbon is from PTI and the bow made with the Bow Easy, and the sentiment is from Anna Wights Cozy Critters set.

I finished off the card with flat backed pearls from Kaiser-some at the bottom and some tiny ones sprinkles on the image to mimic snow.

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend and has a great Monday!

Turtle Thanks!

Another image from the Whipper Snapper 2009 Fall/Winter Release, Mozart the turtle was fun to color and sparkle up! I layered him on some of my favorite Crate paper. I still have several more to share with you over the next few weeks-they just keep getting cuter!!

Continuing with Christmas in July

Oh yeah, it's another Anna Wight chicken! This one is totally getting jolly! No? She does seem a bit puzzled...must be because it's 85 with high humidity...sticky and gross!

Colored up with Copics and matted on Prism cardstock and layered onto some lovely pp from ...I can't remember now, darn! Anyway, this chicken is an single stamp from the Whipper Snapper Fall/Winter Release and the sentiment is from Anna's set Penguin Antics.

The snowflake is a Martha Stewart punch coated with Diamond Glaze and then chunky clear glitter. I used Marvy Liquid Applique on chickens hat trim and pompom. Both the main image and the mat were cut with the Megabilities Curved Rectangles.

My family and I are on our way to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island today. I only live an hour from NYC yet I have never been to either one of these places. My kids are so excited-and me too! Have a great Saturday everyone!

Balancing Act

You couldn't help but have a happy birthday when this guy is delivering the sentiment!

This adorable Whipper Snapper mouse is part of the new 2009 Fall/Winter Collection line of images. I just adore all the mice and they are so much fun to color. He is colored with Copics and I sponged around the image while it was still in the Nestie frame. The cardstock, ribbon, and buttons are all from PTI and the party designer paper is from Imaginesce. I just used some cardstock to cut a little banner which I used to mount my sentiment on.

Hope this makes you smile! Have a happy Thursday!

Christmas in July is the theme

This seems to be a common theme so far be it from me to not join in! Here is another new release image from Whipper Snapper called Bently which you can find here. Have you been filling your shopping cart with these irresistable images yet? I have! Yikes, this is why I can never, ever, quit my job...I mean, how would I ever fund my addiction?!!!

Bently is stamped on Neenah Solar Crest White Ultra Smooth which you can find at 7KidsCollegeFund with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics. I used a scrap of this awesome Chatterbox christmas paper I had from last year (or the year before? or that?) and paired it with Bazzill carstock which has a really nice texture. After taping them together at the back I ran a zig zag stitch at the seam. I inked all around the panel with Distress Ink in Brushed Cordouroy. The sentiment is from the Anna Wight cling set Cozy Critters and adorned with Making Memories gems and a Martha Stewart fern punch. The mat behind Bently is a piece of Bo Bunny dot paper...I hoard every scrap of that, I LOVE it!

I hope everyone's week started off well-it's one more day closer to Friday! Yeah! Have a good one!

It's a Color Throwdown with another WSD

Good morning! Sorry for the late start but Google wouldn't cooperate with me last night and I couldn't get my card posted!

This weeks gorgeous color combo is brought to us by Broni! I can't believe we are up to Challenge #50 already! In addition to the challenge I am also showing you another new Whipper Snapper Fall/Winter release image. How cute are these guys?!

I didn't use any SU! paper on this card *gasp*! The dp I believe is from Doodlebug and the red dot paper for the mat is from Bo Bunny. Stamped on Neenah Solar Crest White Ultra Smooth and colored with Copics. I used glitter on the birds head feathers and wing and the hippo has ultra fashionable blue glittered toenails! I did a wonky stitch around the card with dark green thread, but it looks black unfortunately.

Make sure you head on over to the Color Throwdown blog and join the challenge! Don't forget to use the keyword CTD50 if you post to a public gallery. AND don't forget to check out these awesome sample from the DT-especially our Guest Designer Juliana and wish her a very

Chicken's got pie

I love using this new chicken image from Anna Wight from Chicken's in the Kitchen for Whipper Snapper. There are so many accessories and fun sayings that there are endless creations to be made! The pie is from the What's Cookin' set.

I paper pieced and popped up chicken and the pie, which are both colored with Copics. This panel is stitched and inked and matted by this awesome double sided Crate Paper dp. The flip side is actually a soft powder blue. The polka dot paper is from PTI. In the picture below you can see the dimension.

These are great new sets so please make sure you check out all featured designers creations for inspiration! Have a great day!

Whipper Snapper April Release!

This month there are three new Anna Wight sets debuting for Whipper Snapper...one cuter than the next!

First is one of Anna's famous chickens...from Chicken's in the Kitchen set. I stamped the wisk then masked it before stamping the chicken so she would be holding it. The adorable sentiment is also from the set, but there is a companion set with several sentiments and accessories to really create adorable scenes! I paired her up with some Prism cardstock and patterned paper from DCVW The Green Stack. The red twill is from PTI.

These flowers are from the Simply Bloom set and it is beeuutiful!!! There are a load of sentiments in this pretty font to pair them up with.

I colored all the images with Copics and cut them out and popped them up on foam adhesive, some popped up twice for even more dimension. The sentiment was stamped and cut out with a long rectangle Nestabilitie as was the scalloped mat behind it. The gorgeous polka dot patterned paper is double sided (the green I used for the mat on the other) from Crate Paper. It has such a beautiful texture! I used a Sakura stardust pen to add some sparkly highlights on the flower centers and the butterfly.

Make sure you check out all the wonderful designers samples with these new sets!

One last design for March

I just love this worm from Anna that's in the Sending Happy Thoughts set for Whipper Snapper.

Once again I went with the magnetic flap card for which you can find the tutorial here. I think it's cute and clever and they are quick and easy to make. The cardstock is from Bazzill. I used a Nestability oval set to cut out the image and scallop mat. The worm is colored with Copics and I used a tiny piece of Wild Wire to the top of the hook and it goes under the ribbon from PTI. I don't remember who makes the cute patterned paper...but if anyone wants to know I'm sure I could find out.

Here's what it looks like inside...cute! I have more images from the two March releases to share in the next few weeks. Have a great day!
