Thank You!

Good afternoon and thanks for popping over!  Today I am playing along with the Tiddly Inks challenge Saying Thanks.   I’ve been able to carve out some extra time to create now that the boys have started back at school so I hope to participate in more challenges soon.
DPK_TIDD_Wryn_thankyou_closeup
Here I am using Wryn Blooms.  After printing the image on Flourishes Classic White card stock I colored it with Copic Markers.
DPK_TIDD_Wryn_thankyou
I shaded around the image with Prismacolor pencils and oms and added sparkle with Stickles.   I used Distress Ink in Antique Linen to sponge around the image then mounted it on a die cut from Spellbinders using Romantic Rectangles.    Then I added flowers from Prima and buttons from PTI with some matching ribbon.
This is one of my favorite Wryn images and I find myself using it often.
Thanks for stopping by today and please come back tomorrow to see some new images from A Day For Daisies!

Scuba anyone?

Hello lovelies!  Did you know that Tiddly Inks is having a design team call for the entire month of July?!  I knew it…for weeks now.  I finally got around to making a card.  It’s one of my favorite images, but far from my very favorite…I mean, it’s Tiddly Inks…how do you pick just one?!   I know, I know, you thought I was taking a break. Well, I have scaled way back on the posting, but every now and then I get a chance to make several cards at once and post a few times in a week.  I like the summer to be more casual, but once school starts again things will be back to a more regular schedule :)
Here I used Snorkel Bunny and colored him up with Copic Markers.
DPK_TIDD_DTCALL
I used the Blender Copic to push the ink from the sky to form clouds and I used a piece of terry cloth dampened with Blender to add some texture to the water.  I coated his mask with Crystal Effects and then added lots of sparkle with a Quickie Glue Pen and ultra fine iridescent glitter.
You can see some of the details better in the close up below.

This is a fun image to color!  Thanks for stopping by.   Hope you’re having a great week so far!

Love is in the Air

Well, the snow hit us, and hit us hard.   I measured 22 inches in our yard but the news reports 29 in my town and some areas got as much as 32 inches, yikes!  Lots of rain today, so wishing for clearer roads and no flooding in my home!

I have a card for this weeks Tiddly Inks challenge #103 Love is in the Air.   Another sweet Valentine I’ve created and I think this one will be for mom.

DPK_TIDD_Wryn_mostlove

This is Wryn Blooms and she’s printed on Flourishes Classic White card stock and colored with Copic Markers.   I shaded around the image with Prismacolor pencils and oms and sponged inside the Spellbinders die with Versa Magic in Wheat.   I used a Quickie Glue pen and added ultrafine glitter so it’s nice and sparkly.

I’ll be back on Wednesday with a Flourishes February Sneak Peek!
Thanks for stopping by!

Tiddly Inks Challenge–Wings

This week over at the Tiddly Inks Challenge blog it’s challenge #102 – use wings.   I’ve been making it a priority to get more challenges in and use more of my images and I love these sweeties!
This one is Wryn Close to My Heart.
DPK_TIDD_102
The digital image was printed on Flourishes Classic White card stock and colored with Copic markers.   I used Spellbinders Classic Ovals and Lacey Ovals to die cut the image and mat.  I sponged inside the oval die with VersaMagic Wheat ink.
The patterned paper is from MME Indie Chic which I picked up at Michaels on sale last week.  I used various Recollections florals, a button tied with black jute, and a heart punched from Bazzill embossed cardstock.
So are you in a deep freeze?  I think I would rather have the snow!  No white stuff but everything is frozen solid…including my feet I think!  Thanks for stopping by and keep cozy!

Wednesday’s Color Throwdown CTD 186

swatch 186

Hi everyone!  I am hosting today’s Color Throwdown challenge and I was inspired by the My Minds Eye paper pad Mabel.  I love these fresh colors and I hope you do too.
I used a Tiddly Inks digi image today called Wryns New Nest.  It was printed on Flourishes Classic White card stock and colored with Copic markers.

DPK_TIDD_Wryn_birdnest

This adorable image is layered on patterned paper from the MME Mabel paper pad.  I have a few simple ribbons and some bakers twine with a button and tiny tag with a sentiment a finishing touch.
The team has wonderful samples to share today so hop on over to to their blogs!

Hey y'all, it's time for the Color Throwdown!

swatch 182

Yep, it’s time for another Color Throwdown and our fun color combo is brought to us this week by Tammy!   I think these are great colors and I had fun making my card.

I found that the MME Stella and Rose line called Mabel had the perfect colors for this challenge.  I won this cutie from Tiddly Inks last week and thought she’d be just perfect with this paper.  I printed Howdy Cowgirl Wryn on Flourishes Classic White card stock and colored her with Copic markers.

DPK_CTD182

I used Copic Opaque White and added polka dots to her red bandanna.    I shaded around the image with Prismacolor pencils and oms and sponged the edge of the image panel with Wheat ink from a VersaMagic Dew Drop.    The sentiment is from a Cowboy/Western clear set by The Cat’s Pajamas. I couldn’t find it on their website so I think it’s been discontinued, but it was perfect with this image.  I used the smallest die from the Spellbinders Classic Circles Large set.   The twill ribbon and red button are both from PTI
Head over to the Color Throwdown to get all the details for this weeks challenge and join in the fun!  Check out the ladies below for samples to get your creative juices flowing!

Wednesdays Color Throwdown and pictures!

Welcome to the Color Throwdown #180 hosted this week by Lori Tecler!  This lovely combo really had me scratching my head, but another Wryn came to the rescue.

This adorable digital image is from Tiddly Inks and it was printed on Flourishes Classic White card stock along with the sentiment and colored with Copics.   After coloring I cut out the image with a Spellbinders Classic Rectangle die then sponged it with London Fog from Memento with the die still in place.   All of the paper is from MME, Stella and Rose, Hattie.

And now check out the other ladies!

This past weekend I went to the Intermediate Copic Certification class in Richmond Virginia and was instructed by the wonderful Debbie Olson.  I also got to meet several fellow CTD ladies and we had a wonderful time!

Here I am with Kristine Eberline at the hotel.  I spent the weekend at Kristin's house and she is a wonderful hostess!  I felt right at home with great food and friends!

This is Kristin with Lori Tecler

Here is a group shot from the class with Lori on the left, then Broni Holcombe, Barbara Anders, Debbie Olson, and me.

Last but not least, here we are again at Red Robin, getting a little sustenance before heading back to class!

These ladies are all so sweet and I had a wonderful time meeting and spending time with everyone and I hope we can do it again in the near future!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I wanted to start showing my Valentines Day cards a few days ago, to spread them all out...but I am never quite that organized.  I don't go on my computer much on the weekends so I never got around to posting these, so now you get them all at once :)

I will start with this cutie for my husband.  This adorable hamster is Hamster Cupid from Lil' Inker Designs.  It's stamped on Flourishes Classic White card stock and colored with Copic markers.   I sponged inside the Spellbinders Standard Circle large die after cutting out the image.  I used the Big Scalloped Circle die to mat the image.  The heart and arrow, and the heart on the inside are from the die set Of The Heart Die and Stamp Set also from Lil' Inker Designs.  After I inserted the arrow into the heart I gave it a coating of Crystal Effects and glitter.  The gem hearts are Prima Crystal Hearts in shades of pink.  All of the paper is from MME A Happy Heart.

I tried not to make is too feminine so I used lots of gray and black and no ribbons of any kind.  I think the Christmas card I gave my husband contained enough pink to last him the whole year!   I stamped the image inside along with a sentiment from the Of The Heart Die and Stamp set.  I just wanna squeeze him!!!

This adorable image is from Tiddly Inks.  It's a digi image called Who Loves You. It's printed on Flourishes Classic White card stock and colored with Copics.  The sentiment is a play on words and I created it on the computer and printed it on the same card stock, cut it out, and popped it up on the main image panel.   This is for my 8 year old son, so I restricted the pink only to the hearts and used some masculine plaid paper from the Basic Gray Oxford paper pad.

Last, but not least, is the card I made for my 6 year old son.  This adorable image from Whipper Snapper Designs (which you can purchase as one image too) is actually two separate stamps.  I stamped the frog first, then masked him and stamped the mushroom underneath and colored with Copics.  I used a green Spica pen to sparkle up his spots and Prismacolor Pencils and oms to shade around the image and grass.  The paper again is from the Basic Gray Oxford 6x6 pad.   The sentiment is also from WSD and I added a small heart button and bakers twine with a paper heart doily to finish it.

I sneaked both of these cards into the boys snack bags along with a little bag of Hershey's Kisses...I hope the teacher lets them enjoy a little chocolate at snack time today :)  When they get home they will also get chocolate covered Oreo's from my favorite chocolatier, Bon Bons, yum!

I hope you enjoyed these cards and that you are giving extra love to your loved ones today.  Check back tomorrow for another Color Throwdown challenge!  Have a great day!

Have a fin-tastic day!

Today I have another Tiddly Inks image to share.  This digi image is called Miranda Mermaid
First I’d like to apologize that all of my photos lately are on the dark side…one of my lights for my light box burned out and I’ve been too lazy to replace it yet.   Now moving on.
After printing this image on Flourishes classic white card stock I colored it with Copic markers.  I used the blender pen to add texture to her tail before I added lots of sparkly underwater glitter!
DPK_TIDD_Mermaid
The paper is from Cosmo Crickets Salt Air paper pad.  The scallop mat which was cut with Classic scallop square from Spellbinders is a piece of glitter paper from the new glitter stack by DCWV.  This paper is thin and flexible and really sparkly, but no loose sparkle!  Absolutely no glitter will come off of this paper.  It comes in so many beautiful colors, I just love it!
The “bubbles” I found in Michaels, they are from Dress It Up and were with the decorative buttons.  They are really shiny and pretty irl.   Some ribbon, twine, and a silver starfish charm finish it off.  I haven’t added a sentiment yet but I think it will make a great birthday card.
Every Tuesday Tiddly Inks adds new images so make sure you check them out!  Have a great Monday!

Is it Monday already?

It comes too fast I say!   But I have another super cute Tiddly Inks image to share with you today.
My 8 year old son is obsessed with Harry Potter.  So is his best friend and next door neighbor, Tullia.  She recently celebrated her birthday and I knew this wizard image would be perfect for her.
DPK_TIDD_Wizardbirthdaygirl
Wizardette was printed on Flourishes Classic White card stock and colored with a combination of Copics and Prismacolor pencils with oms.   All but her robe were done with Copics.  Her robe was based with a C00 Copic then colored with a black Prismacolor pencil and oms over it.    The shading around the image is also pencil.  The bubbles were coated with Crystal Effects and sprinkled with diamond glitter.  I also used a Quickie Glitter pen and lots of glitter around the bubbles and wand.
The paper is Euphoria from Basic Grey and the May Arts two toned silk ribbon is from Flourishes.  The circular sentiment is from the Dreamy Days sentiment set from Lili of the Valley
The Tiddly Inks images are so much fun to color so you should check them out!  Hope your day is a good one…Tuesday is almost here!

Wednesday’s Color Throwdown

swatch 175
This week at the Color Throwdown I am your hostess.  My inspiration picture is romantic one so I felt that my card should be too.
I just can’t resist these new Tiddly Inks images, this one called Wryn Grow A Little Love.   This digi image is printed on Flourishes Classic White card stock and colored with Copic markers and Prismacolor pencils with oms.
DPK_CTD175
I dotted her dress and all around her heart flowers with a Quickie Glue pen and diamond glitter from Judikins.   She’s very sparkly, just check her out below!   My little tag is a die from Spellbinders and the border was created with the Filigree Border die from PTI.   I just added a button tied with some twine around a piece of twill.

Dream Big

DPK_TIDD_Wryn_dreambig_closeup
Today I want to share a new digi image that I purchased recently.  This is Wryn from Tiddly Inks.  There are five new designs featuring Wryn.  How cute is she!
Of course she’s a red head.  I can’t help it.  I love to make all my girls red heads.  I wish mine was still that red and a lot less gray!  That was tmi…ok, onto my card.
DPK_TIDD_Wryn_dreambig
The image was printed on Flourishes classic white card stock and colored with Copic markers.  I cut the image using a classic rectangle die from Spellbinders.   I sponged the edges of the image with the die in place using VersaMagic chalk ink in Key Lime.   I did the same using the tag die from Spellbinders for the sentiment.   The patterned paper is all from Pixielicious from Cosmo Cricket.   I used a piece of leftover ribbon and squeaked just enough out for trim and a bow.   Lots of pretty glitter finishes her off.
On another note…I love my cat.  Yes, I really do, but she is always in my way.  And doesn’t care.  See what I mean?  Doesn’t matter how many times I put her on the floor or scold her.  She just jumps right back up and lays flat out on top of whatever I am doing.  My studio, my desk paying bills, laying down reading.  I don’t know how she fits between my chin and the book I am holding but she does.  All. The. Time.   Mind you, I was actually working at my desk when she stretched out here.  I had to get up and get my camera and still she didn’t move.
This is Afton.  Here she’s saying “I’m not in your way or anything, right?'”
DPK_Afton1
“No, seriously, you need to get here?”
DPK_Afton2
No, no…you just get comfortable.  Sorry I disturbed you.  Sigh.

Wednesday’s Color Throwdown

swatch 164
This great halloween color combo is courtesy of Broni! This is my first halloween card this year! Doesn’t look like I’ll be mailing out any this year. I still love making them though…such a fun holiday!
I used this fun digi image from Tiddly Inks by Christy Croll called Cast A Spell. I base coated the image with Copics then shaded with Prismacolor pencils and oms. The patterned paper is from a halloween Recollections pad that I picked up in Michaels last year. The cute sparkly bat is also from Recollections. I picked up several packs of these halloween charms and I hope I get to use a few more soon! I wish I knew who made the sentiment, but I found it loose with some of my other stamps and it’s unmounted rubber that hadn’t been trimmed yet. I think I picked it up last year at a local stamp show. There are so many occasions to use that sentiment besides halloween, lol!
DPK_CTD164
I used lots of glitter on her wings, dress, and from her hands. I also painted around the image with Shimmerz in Angel Wings. Hopefully you can see some of the sparkle in this close up below.
DPK_CTD164_closeup
I hope you play along with this fun color combo. Visit the Color Throwdown for all the details and to link up your creation. Lost of inspiration is to be had from our design team so pay them each a visit too!
Have a great day!
