Color Throwdown #54 - Whimsy

LeAnne
is bringing us this sensational color combo inspired by Ambrosia by Basic Grey! This weeks Color Throwdown is being sponsored by Whimsy stamps and if you play along you will have a chance to win some stamps from them! See the Color Throwdown blog for all the details!

This funky Whimsy Owl was colored up with Copic markers and enhanced with some Shimmerz paint in coffee. In the pic below you can see some of the sparkle. I had colored my owl before the colors were chosen and I am sure glad he lends himself to these rich warm tones! This is really fun paper to play with!

I used Distress Ink in Cordouroy to sponge the edges of each panel. The main image and mat are cut with Nestabilities. The sentiment and scallop mat, which was hand written, (aren't I clever...not!) were punched with Marvy punches. I used the Martha Stewart circle cutter to get another mat in between those as well. A ribbon, bow, and a couple of buttons finishes it off.

I also used a sketch by Laurie Schmidlin for this card...isn't it pretty?! I think I will be using this one a lot!

Make sure you head on over to the blog to get the details on this weeks Throwdown and Whimsy prizes.
