Bloomin’ Beautiful!

It's day 2 of Flourishes' Sneak Peeks for December and today brings a beautiful illustration that's a part of a collection that Flourishes is offering to make your world bloom.... all year long! Introducing......

Part of The Blossoms Collection, this beautiful array of late winter blossoms illustrated by Marcella Hawley features a bouquet, corner stamps, and pieces to create your own borders or frames. Add in a trio of all occasion sentiments and you have the perfect set to create cards for every day correspondence. Set measures 4 by 6" and is the perfect companion to sister sets Happily Ever After SS199 and Letters in Blossom SS198. If you like this set, you might also like our Summer Blossoms set featuring summer florals or our Autumn Blossoms set featuring Autumn florals.
Pussy Willows are one of my favorite bushes and they never last long…unless you cut them and bring them in for display!  They dry nicely.  My husband snapped off a big branch one year while mowing the lawn, so I picked it up and stuck it in some water and now I have two large bushes.  They root and transplant very easily.
I went very simply in my image and design because this is a sympathy card.  I like to keep them simple and elegant without embellishments.

First I die cut Flourishes Classic White Card Stock with the Perfectly Pierced Classic Hour Glass die . Then I stamped the corner floral image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with Copic markers.   I added some white flock to each of the catkins on the pussy willow stems to make them feel realistic.  Then I stamped the sentiment.  To create the mat below the image panel I just traced the outside of the die on to patterned paper and cut it out so it was a little larger than the die cut.
The patterned paper is all from the MME Sunshine paper pad and just a strip of sheer black ribbon adorns the card. I just love this spray of crocus and pussy willows!   The floral images in this set are so versatile and I will be using it often!
