Mower Love on Friday

First, a moment to remember those we lost on 9/11...

I never realized how profoundly the events of that day had affected me. Still today, I can't even explain what happened when my son asks, without getting so choked up that I can no longer speak. I'll never forget the intense silence that afternoon-not a sound from a car, a bird, the wind...nothing after it happened-like the world stood still. While I did not lose anyone close to me, I know people who did. And I remember trying to call friends all afternoon, who worked in Manhattan, to see if they made it out. My husbands cousin was there, as a NYC fire fighter. His stories go beyond anything we read in the newspaper or saw on television.

Let's us remember...something we can never forget.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yay, it's Friday! Hubs was busy cutting the lawn and so I thought it was appropriate to show this card today. This fun image is from Whipper Snapper. You can find it in the 2009 Fall/Winter collection.
Love You Mower is very simply colored with Copic markers and layered on floral pp. I can't remember who's it is...could be Fancy Pants again, but I really don't remember...I have so many scraps! The "grass" is just a strip of green cardstock that I trimmed with decorative scissors and then cut vertical strips so that I could bend them this way and that! Just a big fun button and some twine finish off this simple and silly card. Enjoy the weekend!
Thank you for taking the time to remember 9/11! That really was a horrible day...one that changed this country forever...and unfortunately is probably the cause for the global economic troubles right now!! It was also a huge change for me...I had just gotten married 6 weeks earlier! It made me realize how short life was and that I wanted to start a family sooner than later...I was pregnant with Ansley 3 months later! In fact, I was actually in my OB's office watching the whole thing on TV (I actually saw the 2nd plane hit live on TV).
I love your card...very cute! I love the "grass" you created, too!
Your card is so fun. I love the play on words!
Danielle, I'm in Canada, and didn't know anyone close to the 9/11 situation, but it affected me for months afterwards. And it was the same eerie silence in my town that day too. It was probably like that all over North America. Bless you for posting a remembrance post. xo
I don't think anyone will ever forget where they were that day, or what the sky looked like--so pretty and clear and blue---until that terrible news came. We had better not forget!!!
Anyway, the card is soooo cute! Love it!
Thanks, Danielle...I will also never forget the silence that day...it was so eerie, no planes, no cars....nothing....thanks for the remembrance.
It is difficult, but life does go on, and the grass does grow..and need to be mowed..
