Wrap it up with High Hopes
This week it's High Hopes challenge #44 Wrap It Up brought to us by Inge. She challenged us to make anything that was not a card. My project is a CD holder. I found instructions here on SCS...although I did have to alter it a tiny bit to reduce some overhang. Don't you just hate overhang, lol?!
I stamped Mudzie and Choppers Carolling on Neenah Solar Crest White Ultra Smooth cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. They are colored with Copic markers and shading around the image was done with Prisma pencils and odorless mineral spirits. I also used some white Fun Flock on Mudzie's boots and Choppers earmuffs. Nice and fuzzy and warm! The sentiment banner is inked with Distress Ink in Antique Linen and Brushed Cordouroy.
The cardstock, buttons, and twine are Papertrey. The snowflakes are a Marvy punch, once in ivory and again in brown layered behind it...coated with Diamond Glaze and glitter. The branch punch is from Martha Stewart and the holly patterned paper is from Creating Keepsakes and I have had it forever it seems! I used a self adhesive velcro circle cut in half to create a closure for the case. Below is a view of the back.
The CD I placed inside for photo purposes is one of many "Pizza with Santa" keepsake CD's that I received from a friend of mine, as a party favor, who has this large annual Christmas party. It's wonderful party with piano players, carolers, face painters, magicians, Santa bearing gifts...and of course pizza! He goes all out my friend, and if the town would allow, he would have reindeer too-trust me, he tried! This is a view of the inside. I thought about embellishing here too, but then thought it might interfere or even scratch the CD, so I just left it plain.
This would be a great idea to make for gifts with a music or photo CD inside! Make sure you head over the High Hopes blog and see all the Diva's wonderfu l projects! Please play along with us and make sure you use keyword HHC44 when you upload to a public gallery! Hope you had a great weekend!
