High Hopes Challenge 19

This weeks challenge was sponging, something that I do all the time, so I really enjoyed it. I am really done with the cold, frozen ground and the wind that blows me over! Although I dread putting on a bathing suit I am longing for the warmer weather!

This cutie pie is another High Hopes image that I stamped colored with Prisma pencils and odorless mineral spirits. Originally I masked the image and began sponging in the background but then I picked up the brown sponge and started on the sky...oh &*^% Yep, so I cut her out and popped her up on a new background panel that I created. The cloud template is from Rosie's Road Show. I sponged the sky in Broken China and Faded Jeans Distress Inks. The sand was sponged with Sahara Sand Versa Magic and Pearlescent Beige Brilliance. Then I spread Antique Linen Distress Stickles over the sand for texture and sparkle.


Here you can see the Stickles a bit better. I don't really know what posessed me to choose this color combo. See I never pick my paper first...bad I know! So I started with her bathing suit and since the tube was black I thought her fins and mask should be a different color. Blue probably would have been a more likely choice. Anyway, after I colored the whole thing I thought, what in God's name am I gonna pair this with?! So the lavendar dots go with her bathing suit and the turquoise goes with it and the sky, and the yellow, obvious! Do they ALL go together? And if that's not bad enough, I am so embellishment challenged! The jury is still out on this one...
