On a lighter note

I wanted to post some pictures from the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Here's my attempt at a self portrait, me and Sean! I know people do it successfully all the time, but I was lucky that I got any of my face in it!! The worst part is that these are the best pictures of me all day! I am so not photogenic and my hubby can't take a good picture of me to save his life!

Say Cheese!!!!

Kermit is my number one all time favorite muppet character...followed by Grover, a very close second!

Then there's Snoopy...who doesn't love him? He's another of my all time favorites! Where you see the balloons with the street light and building in the background is the side street where they come out of and join the parade behind their respective float. It was so cool to watch!

And yes, we are really that close to the balloons! We even had confetti thrown on us by marching clowns...it was awesome!

And Buzz Lightyear...I believe he was the biggest balloon this year at 6 stories tall...he was fantastic!

This is some of our group: Nino is the guy with the glasses...he's an actor (I am so sorry Nino, but what where you in again? Oops...and he has the whitest teeth ever! Definitely an actor!) and his girlfriend Rina next to him. They are so sweet! My husbands cousin Jim is behind/between them and his oldest boy is on the right not looking at the camera. Jim is a NYC fire fighter and his badge is what got us so close! Thanks Jim! My Joey is sitting up on the street control box thingy...I think it's the thing that houses the stuff that makes the crosswalk signs and traffic lights work! Anyway, he definitely had the best view of the parade!

And speaking of actors...I didn't get a picture of him, but we saw Alec Baldwin on the corner of Columbus and something and he was on his cell phone. Kinda cool huh? One of the perks of living on Long Island and spending time in Manhattan...playgrounds for the rich and famous! Of course, that does NOT include me, lol! I did however take pictures of Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana) and Miranda Cosgrove (iCarly)...I figure someday my boys will appreciate that!

I want to also say thanks to everyone for their kind words and understanding. It really meant a lot to be able to share my grief. I think it definitely helps the healing process. I really appreciate all of my wonderful blogger friends who visit and leave me comments...on both the good and the sad.

Have a great day...hope I will get around to posting some cards this week!

I would LOVE to go to the Macy's Day parade some day! We've been to NYC twice in the last year, always look for *famous* people, but we never seen any. I would have loved to get a glimpse of Alec IRL. Very cool!

Great pics!
