Meet the Bloom Brigade

PP_MeetBloomBrigade_600px

Today we are unveiling the Power Poppy design team…Meet the Bloom Brigade!  To tell you a little about myself, let me answer this question.

Q. What TV sitcom family would you fit right into?
A. Well, I'd have to say The Middle.  Boy oh boy, do I feel Frankie's pain.  I am right there along with her sighs of defeat...from helping her son create a science project he forgot to tell her about that is due in the morning or the constant piles of "to do" stuff that never get done.  Wanting to be the perfect mom, but finding herself on the couch with a bag of chips surrounded by unfolded laundry and no plans on making dinner!  I'm not like that all the time or to such exaggeration, but I can definitely laugh at the similarities I see in my own home!

Taking care of two boys ages 10 and 8 can sometimes seem a challenge...they definitely keep me on my toes.  We are always running around to various sporting activities and school functions.  I like to stay active by kickboxing at least 3 times a week.  Sometimes when I feel like I can't go one more minute I just think of someone who deserves a punch and I can get my rhythm back no problem! It's a great stress reliever!  As the weather warms up I love to walk, run, ride my bike, and hike with my family.  My husband and I have always hiked with the boys, even before they could walk on their own, and instilled a love of nature and the outdoors. The country life is the one I crave and I long for the day when I can't see my neighbors and I get eggs from my own chickens.  I'd like a goat too...yeah, they're cute! Now, I do love my peace and quiet, but that never stops me from getting together with friends every chance I can.  And one of my favorite getaways is to take weekend excursions with my fellow photographers and head north to the Adirondacks.  My favorite photography is nature; landscapes, wildlife, and macro.  Landscapes don't talk back.  Or move.  Great subjects!

So, when I am not going in 10 different directions or at 100 miles per hour, sipping a glass of wine and enjoying a quiet evening at home with my husband, dog, cat, various small animals and reptiles, oh, and maybe the kids, is one of my most favorite things to do!  It's a crazy, fun, full of love (an animal hair, don't forget) kind of household and I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Hmmmm... I've never seen that show, but I've got a pretty good idea of it from reading about your life. Your's is much more colorful and beautiful, I'm sure, judging from your love of the outdoors and nature's wonder. I think we could hang out and have a pretty good time! It'll be awesome hanging out on the team again!

What a treat it was to get a peek inside the life of Danielle the kickboxing supermom!! I am in awe! And I so get doing the mom thing. The cool thing is when you spend so much time with your kids when they're young, they tend to still want to hang out with you when they're older, and will treasure their hiking and exploring memories! I'm so looking forward to designing with you Danielle!! This is going to be a blast!

The mom thing is daunting at times but I bet you love every minute of it. Time goes so quickly and before you know it they are out of the nest. I love your sense of humor and I am so happy to be stamping with you again..

Remind me to NEVER make you mad! I don't want it to be MY face you envision as you smack that punching bag! LOL! If you ever want to hit some fabulous hiking trails west of the Mississippi, let me know. I happen to know a few! ;-)

This was fun reading and learning more about you. I was so please to see that you stopped by to say hello. A kick boxer huh? That is so awesome. I love your sense of family, and your laid back way of looking at things. If we lived close, I know we would be friends. Hope all is well. Best, Curt
