Time for a cookie

As I write this, it’s Sunday evening here on Long Island.  There’s a little bit of wind, but nothing that resembles a storm, yet.   But we are ready for Hurricane Sandy…battened down the hatches, stocked the cupboards and fridge, got the generator ready and gas cans filled.  Bring it on!  No, not really.  I am not worried about no power as much as I am about tree’s coming down and causing serious damage. So…lets keep our fingers crossed and prayers going.  Wishing safety to everyone in Sandy’s path the next few days!
Now, here’s a super quick project that’s really fun!  I used the new Fresh Baked stamp set from Flourishes to create a label for my cookie package.
DPK_Homemade_cookieholder
I stamped the image with Memento Rich Cocoa on Flourishes Classic Ivory card stock.  I stamped off the color a bit on scrap paper first so that it was a nice soft brown.  I stamped the wording with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used a Copic black Multiliner to write in my name.  I then used Wheat Ink from a VersaMagic Dew Drop to ink around the image which was cut out with a Spellbinders Classic Circles large  die and the mat with a Scalloped Circles die which I ran a gingham ribbon through.
I bought a package of these plastic boxes a couple of years ago at a stamp show and I forgot that I had them.  It was perfect size for a single serve treat for a friend, neighbor, teacher, bus driver…you get the idea!  I just cut a piece of patterned paper to fit inside the box which I adhered with a tiny bit of tape so it would stay on the bottom.   I’m gonna make a bunch for the holidays!
I hope everyone has a safe and happy start to their week!
