Friday Focus

Yay, it’s Friday!  The beginning of the weekend is always a fun day. And today Flourishes we are focusing on an oldie but goodie stamp set, Forest of Trees.   I love this set so much and I’ve used the large evergreen tree many times, so today I chose a different tree.
DPK_FF_Oct26_2012_wm
I started with Flourishes Classic White card stock and using a template (I just used a scrap of paper that I cut some curves into) I sponged Turquoise Gem ink, from a VersaMagic Dew Drop, lightly to make the rolling hills.  I used a Quickie Glue Pen and ultra fine glitter to make them sparkle.  I used Aegean Blue VersaMagic Dew Drop and sponge the top half of the sky.
I inked up the bare tree with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and stamped it first in the fore ground then several more times, masking the hills, to make them appear to be in the distance.  I added Marvy Liquid Applique to the main tree with glitter, and also used it to make snowflakes all around.
I stamped Merry Christmas from Naturally Merry and matted it on dark brown cardstock that I cut into a banner.  I added a snowflake to the end which was created with a Martha Stewart punch.  I used Solid Wrinkled White ribbon layered with red braided trim and a brown grosgrain and tied with a button from MME Breeze  with kraft jute.
See what beautiful creations the design team has to share using this gorgeous set!
Now check out this fun sale!
