Flourishes Release Week Challenge

Word to your Mother Graphic

Happy Friday!! We have a fun release week challenge from Flourishes. It’s the Word to Your Mother Challenge. This challenge is all about the words that make your Mother’s day! Create by using a sentiment as your focal point and you’ll be in the running to win Flourishes’ entire May release! Use FLLCMAY11 keyword. Deadline is May 13th at 5 pm eastern.

Today I am using a sentiment from Motherly Love.

DPK_FF_May6

I stamped it on Flourishes Classic White card stock and cut it out with a Spellbinders classic square die. I inked inside the die with Tattered Rose Distress ink from Ranger. I then used a Labels Sixteen to cut a mat from a piece of butterfly printed paper from the DCWV stack called Mariposa. I then cut a piece from another pattern with the single butterfly on it and stitched it to a background piece with a subtle pattern. I used a piece of May Arts silk ribbon to make a luscious bow and used several buttons to cover up some wonky stitching! I was having mechanical difficulties but I didn’t want to trash the card, so I embellished instead :)

Now we got changes on the way for how release week will be handled so make sure you visit Flourishes post here for all of the details. More sneaky peaks and more challenges! Check it out!

The team has lots of inspiration so pop on over to each of their blogs and take a look! Enjoy the weekend and Happy Mother’s Day!!

I would never guess those pretty buttons were there to cover up a few renegade stitches. The placement is perfect! Ideal color match, too. This card is resplendent with the WOW factor in a dreamy and beautiful kind of way.
