Wednesday’s Color Throwdown

Good morning! Kristin is our Color Throwdown hostess today and continuing on our warmer color scheme to help keep the cold at bay!

swatch 127

We are continuing on our icy mix falling on top of the couple of feet of snow we already have. Ah, did I say I love the snow? I do really, but I think I’m done now :)

I went simple on my card today, no coloring!

The designer paper is from Stampin Up! I used a sentiment from the Life Lines set by Flourishes and stamped it on kraft paper which was cut with a Spellbinders Labels Eleven die. I then traced the die on Espresso cardstock and cut it out to use as a mat under the kraft. The large white flowers are Martha Stewart, from the bridal section at Michaels. I curled and layered them and added a tiny brass brad. The roses are from Prima. I was pretty pleased with how this card came out until I realized I had forgotten to use So Saffron! I pulled out my Y21 Copic and colored up some ivory roses and added them on. I like the subtle color they add.

I trimmed the edge of the bashful and espresso left panel with some velvet ruffle ribbon and added a few pearls to finish it off. I think it’s sweet and all of those flowers make me feel better knowing how nasty it’s been outside.

Join us over at the Color Throwdown and show us your creation! Check out the lovely offerings of our entire design team, including our February Guest designer Joan Ervin! We are delighted to have her join us this month!

This is such a pretty card, Danielle. The sentiment stamped on kraft and backed with chocolate has such a beautiful impact on your overall design. I love your flowers and the papers you picked to work with. So so so nice!!

Gorgeous, Danielle. Those pearls and roses make this extra sweet. I love how you curled the MS flowers--I have some of them but never use them because they're so FLAT....genius!

So very pretty. I just LOVE color throw down Wednesdays. We are getting a major winter blizzrd now. It is letting up and the drifts are HUGE. One over son's driveway is 8 feet! At least it is a snow day for school and no one is allowed on the roads so everything is pretty much closed today. Stay warm , big hugs...

Oh my word...this is GORGEOUS, Danielle! I LOVE that you forgot to use Saffron and whipped out a Copic to color some primas! I never would have thought of that, and they actually look more realistic how you colored them than they do when they're already colored. This is FAR from "simple" btw...but I get what you mean about no coloring. This is BEAUTIFUL, girly!
