Wednesday’s Color Throwdown

Welcome to another week with the Color Throwdown.  Challenge #116 is hosted by LeAnne and she has chosen this classic combo:

swatch 116

I had the misfortune to need a sympathy card this week so these colors were not used festively as I would have liked.   They still are muted and lovely and worked well for a simple quiet card.

I embossed a large floral from With Sympathy from PTI with clear ep and Versa Mark.  I stamped the sentiment from the same set and cut it and the mat with oval Nestabilities.   I used ribbon from PTI for a simple embellishment.  The glare on the embossed floral in the picture kind of makes it appear a bit garish but it’s not so bold irl.

Please come visit us on the Color Throwdown and play along with us.  The design team has some fabulous samples to share-check it out!

A lovely Sympathy card. The verse is perfect as is the embossed BG. (Sorry to hear you needed to make one this week.) Hugs...

Sorry you needed a sympathy card, Danielle, but your card is gorgeous. I love the embossed background and pretty ribbon treatment under the sentiment.

Beautiful card for a not-so-happy occasion. I love the deep red and I've always loved that set. I'm sure it brought comfort to it's recipient.

Okay, first thing's first...you are CRAZY, gf! CRAZY. Remember how you down played your card to our DT the night we posted?! BS! This is STUNNING! I don't know how you manage to whip up a card and it puts my jaw on the floor. It's really not fair. I think I'll ignore all future comments about how your card isn't that great...blah blah blah.
