Sorry I'm late...

I should have had this post up this morning but I was up so late trying to finish my nieces recipe book...which I FINALLY finished this morning...then headed to the bridal shower. But here it is!

This weeks High Hopes challenge is Go for the Gold...to add gold to your card. I rarely use gold and pirate treasure was what first came to mind for me. I've had these stamps for some time but never inked up this particular pirate but I had fun coloring him and creating this scene.

Colored with Copics, I used a Krylon 18k Gold Leaf paint pen to add "gold coins" to the chest after I colored them, and I also ran it around the outside of the layer for a border. The designer paper is from Rusty Pickle.

Hope on over to the blog and check out all the fantastic cards the ladies came up with!

Such a darling little pirate. My grandson's initails are ARR so he is often called our little pirate. This sure would make a fun BD card for him! TFS...hugs...

This is adorable! Great way to incorporate gold into your card. The pumpkins on your next card are adorable too.

BTW I cracked up when I read your profile about wanting to win the lottery and craft all day while the cook, housekeeper, etc...all take care of you. Apparently we share the same dream! :)

Really neat card, but at first I was reading your entry about finishing the recipe file for the shower, and then came the picture and I thought, hmmm, thats a different take for a recipe file, dumb me, then I read on and started cracking up.....I've had a long day, what can I say!!
