Back to the daily grind

Well, I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday weekend! Originally we had lousy weather intended for our area, but it turned out the to be mostly sunny and in the 80's all weekend! It was great! I had one quiet evening where I was able to do lots of coloring too-so it was near perfect!

I colored up this newly acquired adorable Whipper Snapper image with my Prisma pencils and OMS. I accented areas around the image with a Sakura Stardust pen. The pink cardstock, ribbon, and buttons are Hibiscus Burst from PTI. The adorable pink and green polkadot paper is from Crate Paper.

I started stitching around my mats and wanted to continue around my image and also the background but my machine wouldn't have it. I couldn't sew more than 3 stitches on my Janome Sew Mini and the whole thing would snarl up. I kept taking out the bobbin and reloading it...checking the tension...couldn't find anything wrong with it. It just isn't pulling the thread smoothly and the spool above jerks and the thread bunches up. I've re-read the manual and reviewed the tutorials on GinaK's blog showing how to thread the machine, but I just don't know what's wrong. Anyone have any ideas, tips, a sledge hammer?

Have a great day!

All I can offer in way of help is the SLEDGEHAMMER, I know the frustration. :)

I LOVE the adorable new whipper snapper designs. SO ADORABLE. You can really make them look good.

The hibiscus burst is WOW, love that color. Another thing to add to my shopping list (must haves) hee hee.

Have a great week, HUGS

I love your coloring with your whipper snapper stamps....so dang cute!!!
You are more patient than I....I would have taken out the sledgehammer without even asking for hints.... I have no patience when things don't work properly. Good luck with it.

Your card and coloring is Fabulous..I love this Cute image!!...Two things to check on that machine....first would be the tension....set it for about 2 1/2...(it really sounds like it is restricting the thread)...it may be too tight....anyway that is where I set mine at. The other would be...check your threading...there is a little black doo dad above the needle...bar...sometimes I forget to put the thread under it...or it jumps out....gives me problems. Hope this helps.....Hugs, Ila

your card is adorable! Beautiful coloring! I don't have a janome, but I do have a sewing machine, and I wonder if perhaps the bobbin is in backwards and it's pulling in the wrong direction?
This is the reason why I use faux stitches on my cards! *snort*

I can barely thread a needle so a sewing machine is WAY over my head.

I have a computer bat, but if it is as much help to your sewing machine as to my computer then it's all for naught.....It looks gorgeous regardless! I LOVE it!

SO cute Danielle!! I saw you worked out the snarls and have it going again-- I've had that happen with mine too, but I used some oil on it and then it worked fine again.
