It's "fra-gee-lay" that's Italian

That is one of my favorite lines from "A Christmas Story"...when dad gets the crate marked "fragile" and pronounces it with an italian accent...fra gee lay....LOL! I flipped when I saw this image on Michelle's blog here. It's from a great company called Sideshow Stamps. I also got some really great owl images too. They have lots of funky and retro images, check them out.

Ok, short today, I promise! I used all Papertrey patterned paper and cardstock. I stamped the image in Palette Noir once on white and then again on the moss paper and once again on the blue background paper. I only colored the leg and base of the lamp on the white paper cut out the entire image and placed onto the background image with foam dots. Then I cut out just the lampshade from the moss pp and popped it up again with foam dots. Before I added the lampshade I found some fringy like stuff but it was green and sparse. I colored it with a black Copic, trimmed it shorter to resemble fringe a bit more and folded it over so it was bit fuller. It's not perfect, but neither is a leg lamp! The base I colored with a Sakura stardust pen and then went over with Copper Copic and then finished with Diamond Glaze to make it look metallic. I added some brads, ribbon, and a little flower charm from Nunn Design.

Here's a little closer view of the lampshade. I love this image and I think a lot of people will really get a "kick" out of getting one! Oh yeah, one more thing...I just did not have a fitting sentiment for this. I was trying to think of something clever but couldn't come up with anything at the time of creation. But I am open to suggestions for the next one!

Happy Friday and have a great weekend everyone!

Very clever and that is one of the best moments in that hilarious movie. In some ways I can see how all of us bloggers share a bit in 'Dad's" vanity.
