How could I have forgotten to mention the stitching?!

I can't believe I forgot to mention the stitching on this card! It is my second card with stitching...ever! I should have uploaded the first one today, but I was lucky enough to make several cards this weekend and didn't think about posting them in order! I got my Janome Sew Mini on Friday afternoon while I was snow bound. As much as I wanted to sew I was aprehensive about it so I didn't take it out of the box right away. Then on Saturday afternoon I decided I should at least take it out of the box. I had read GinaK's first two parts on her tutorial so I gave making a bobbin a try and found I was able to do that and thread the machine very easily following the enclosed directions. The real test was if I could actually sew. I grabbed a piece of scrap paper and closed my eyes and hit the pedal...voila! I sewed! It was so easy! I tried every different stitch and couldn't wait to sew on my first card! I did a very simple straight stitch, well, as straight as I could actually make it anyway. I remember my big old machine (I haven't sewn in at least 15 yrs) that was so heavy I could hardly move it and when you pressed the foot pedal it went so fast I couldn't control it. This wasn't just easy, it was fun! I can't wait to get to the store and buy thread in all different colors and try some new stitches. I love Ila's stitching....you have to check out her awesome cards on Artfully Ila! She also gave me an Excellent Blogger award! That was so nice! She is so inspiring I was truly humbled by the award!
