Color Throwdown Week 28

This weeks Color Throwdown is being hosted by Barbara Anders and her chosen colors are Chocolate Chip, Riding Hood Red, and Pirouette Pink and they are so lovely together!

The adorable lion image is from High Hopes. It's colored with Copics and I used the new GinaK pure luxury 120lb paper. It really does work wonderfully with the Copics. The background is a scrapblock from Cornish Heritage Farms. It's stamped on white cardstock and inked with Distress Inks in Antique Linen, Tea Dye, and Walnut Stain. The sentiment is Wild Thing from Verve Visual. The set has several great sentiments! The lace heart edge is a Martha Stewart border punch...her punches are awesome! I distressed the edges of every panel and inked them up and finished by adding few tiny enamel heart brads from Making Memories to the sentiment panel.

This is going to be my hubby's Valentines Day card..it's cute but no bows or fluffy stuff...so I think he can handle it!

Sweet Turtle

My bil in Texas celebrated his birthday last Friday but I just got around to mailing his card the same day! He is one of the people who looks forward to getting a card from me so even though it would be late I knew I had to send him one.

I love this cute turtle from Kim Hughes at Cornish Heritage Farms. I thought I could get away with out having to add bows or flowers since he's sporting that huge sucker! I wanted to keep is plain and simple for a guy...and the soft blue is borderline! I don't usually stamp the sentiment directly on the card like that but I embossed it with clear detail ep to make it stand out a bit. The cardstock and ribbon are from Papertrey Ink, Aqua Mist and Spring Moss. The sucker is covered with Diamond Glaze and it and his hat and pompom are popped up for a bit of dimension. Just easy and simple...seems to be the only thing I have time for these days!

More Whipper Snapper

I'm sorry, but I seem to have cornered the market on Whipper Snapper images this holiday seaon...and I haven't even inked them all up yet! This is one really big image! I love this jolly Santa and his faithful capped companions. Colored with Copics and accented with a Sakura Stardust gelly roll pen. The penguins are popped up over the original image and Santa's gloves and popped up yet again for more dimension which you can see below. All Santa's hair and the pompom on his hat are flocked as well as the white stripes on the trim of his coat. His shoes were covered in Diamond Glaze. The holly leaves are from Kim Hughes set Christmas Critters by Cornish Heritage Farms and a glittered brad for the berry. The sentiment is from Anna Wight's set North Pole Post by Whipper Snapper. The peppermint paper is from Heidi Grace and the peppermint brads were in my stash...I don't know who's they are as I've had them forever it seems. The cardstock and base are Bazzill and Prism papers.

Hoo's Birthday is it now?

I made these two adorable cards (full of myself, huh?) the weekend before last and I will try to list all the materials-but I apologize if I forget any! I was away sometime last week and returned home on Sunday night from a photography workshop in the Adirondacks. It was fantastic and I hope to share some images soon. My Google reader is showing almost 350 new posts that I haven't read yet-so needless to say it's going to take me a while to catch up. I just want everyone to know that I am visiting your blogs and checking out all of your wonderful creations but I won't be commenting so that I can catch up some time this year!

This adorable owl image is a Kim Hughs design from Cornish Heritage Farms. He's colored with Copics and his hat is paper pieced. I used glitter glue on the owls hat below, but on the hat on the owl above I used Marvy liquid applique and glitter on the dots. I used Marvy liquid applique on the pom pom on each on with some diamond glitter too. The adorable dp is from Making Memories as is the ribbon on each. The flower gems are from Kaiser and the frosted brads are from Doodlebug. I used Nesties for the tags and the ovals. I believe the sentiment is from Lizzie Ann Designs. It was included in a some blog candy I won from them-a dozen singles and some sentiments.

The two people who I sent these birthday cards too both love the color purple so I hope they like these! I hope everyone had a great weekend and enjoys the week-I hope to be back commenting soon!!
