Happy Friday! The snow is melting, crocuses are popping up, and I wore a sweatshirt out shopping yesterday! I definitely have spring fever…so these adorable snail images from A Day For Daisies are just perfect today!
This is A Mother’s Burden. She doesn’t look like she’s suffering too much with these little cuties on her back! This week it a polka dot challenge…
I colored the image first with a base of Copic marker then went over it with Prismacolor pencils and oms. It really gives the image depth and softens the edges. I painted over the snail shells with Shimmerz in Angel Wings and Magenta to add a little sparkle and shine.
I used Copics to create the polka dots around the image and also the sentiment. The orange paper I used to mat the image and sentiment is also polka dotted, but it trimmed it close and it’s hard to see. The ribbon behind the sentiment it polka dotted to complete the challenge. I also used the Prismacolor pencils to shade the ground and make the blades of grass. The shading on the image panel was done with the Spellbinders die still in place after cutting the image with Wheat Ink from a VersaMagic Dew Drop. The pretty patterned paper is Mango Frost from DCWV.
